The sales of major non-fungible token (NFT) marketplaces increased by +40% last week.
OpenSea recorded a +44% increase in sales last week. It had even passed +100% increase in daily sales on 14 November based on the data on Dune analytics.
The introduction of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) metaverse bands by Universal and Timbaland have brought new ways for BAYC owners to commercialize their popular collectibles. In fact, the total sales involved in BAYC was over $97 million with more than 400 transaction counts last week as shown in the top collection table below.
Last week hype of BAYC also brought more trading activities in other ape collectibles. The Mutant Ape Yacht Club and the Lil Baby Ape Club had sales of over $62 million and $14 million respectively last week based on the data on OpenSea.
Nifty Gateway recorded a -9% decrease in total sales last week, but sales from new drops by artists such as goldweard, Okuda San Miguel, and Tycho have contributed to its increase in average price.
Hic et Nunc, a TEZOS based NFT marketplace favored by individual artists and newcomers for its low transaction costs, has abruptly discontinued its services without explanation. Questions remain about the safety of NFTs under Hic et Nunc’s custody; though one of its founders tweeted that the data stored on the platform is safe.
Collectibles Bored Ape Yacht Club including its Rolling Stone crossover version and Cryptopunk led the top sales table of DappRadar last week. A CyberKongz collectible ‘Tester 962’ sold at a price of $401K was also on the table.
