About Voltz

Voltz is one of the hottest and most eagerly anticipated protocols in DeFi. The team is operating in stealth mode right now. However, even without a public announcement about the protocol, DeFi teams, Traders and CeFi organisations are developing trading models in anticipation of the new primitive being launched.

Voltz Labs was started by Stanford and Oxford educated founders and is now supported by advisors and angels from many big-brand teams in DeFi (announcement to be made soon).

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who is academically exceptional, financially savvy and loves mathematical engineering challenges. You need to be relentlessly driven with high standards and attention to detail. As a small core team, everyone you work with will be exceptional and exceptional standards will be expected from you in return.

As a Quantitative Finance Research Engineer you will build quantitative models for risk management and pricing, contribute to the research and development of Voltz core smart contracts, tokenomics, incentives design and more.

Your key responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design and development of the core smart contract stack of the Voltz Protocol
  • Create valuation and pricing models to better mitigate the risks of sophisticated derivatives
  • Leverage advanced Data Science methodologies to analyse Voltz market dynamics and stress test the protocol
  • Contribute to research on protocol tokenomics, participant incentives and liquidity mining
  • Collaborate proactively with the rest of the Voltz family to provide analytics & quantitative analysis of novel & game changing DeFi products

The minimum qualifications

  • Detailed understanding of programming and software engineering fundamentals (ideally in an object oriented language, e.g. Python)
  • Quantitative skills with Masters/PhD in a quantitative discipline (Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Physics, Quantitative Finance, Computer Science)
  • Expertise in relevant quantitative methodologies e.g. data science, monte carlo simulations, probability theory
  • Minimum of 2 year working in a directly relevant role, with strong research background (ideally in the derivatives space)

Qualifications that make your application stronger

  • Experience with Python, R, Solidity
  • Deep understanding of the DeFi ecosystem
  • Previous experience researching and working with decentralised finance protocols
  • Understanding of modelling principles behind stochastic processes
  • Familiarity with fundamental ideas in microeconomics and game theory relevant to protocol incentives and token economics design
