The Temperance tarot card is all about balance and moderation. It is the card of Temperance, representing the virtue of self-control.

This card reminds you that you need to find a balance between your desires and the needs of others.

It would be best to avoid overindulging in anything, leading to problems.

The Temperance tarot card can also represent harmony and cooperation.

When you are in balance, you can work with others more effectively and efficiently.

When you are out of balance, it can lead to conflict and disharmony.

Let's talk about the history and symbolism of Temperance.

The History And Symbolism Of Temperance Tarot

Temperance can be traced back to the early 15th century when it first appeared in Europe.

It is believed that the temperance tarot card was created to teach people about the importance of moderation in all aspects of their lives.

The Temperance tarot card has undergone many changes over the centuries, but its meaning remains unchanged.

Today, the temperance tarot card is still used as a tool to help people achieve balance in their lives.

If you look at the card in the Rider-Waite-Smith deck, you will see that Temperance is the angel that represents masculinity and femininity, and the angel wears a light-blue robe in color.

And the robe consists of an enclosed triangular shape with a square in the center.

The triangle represents humans, and the square represents the earth and the laws that come with it.

So you can see that the angel has one foot on the ground for grounding, so to speak, and another foot in the water as far as going with the flow.

So the angel takes two cups and pours water between them, representing the ebb and flow of life.

Another thing about the Temperance tarot card is that it is one of the four cardinal virtues, including justice, prudence, and fortitude.

In addition, the temperance tarot card is often associated with the astrological sign of Sagittarius, which is known for its spiritual qualities.

Therefore, the Temperance tarot card can be interpreted differently, but its overall message is always the same: moderation is key.

So let's talk about what it means when you see Temperance in a reading.

What Temperance Means In A Reading

The Temperance tarot card is often seen as a sign of progress.

That represents the ability to find balance and harmony, essential for growth.

When you can find a balance in your own life, it can lead to positive change in all areas of your life.

Therefore, the temperance tarot card shows that things are moving in the right direction.

If you see the Temperance tarot card in a reading, it is a good sign that you are on the right track.

You may need to make some adjustments in your life, but overall, things are going well.

This is a time to focus on cooperation and working together.

Try to find a balance between your own needs and the needs of others.

Be careful not to overindulge in anything, as this could lead to problems down the road.

The Temperance tarot card is a sign of progress and positive change.

If you are on the right track, keep moving forward!

For example, you can compare this card to someone struggling with their demons but is working with their therapist to find methods to process them and find skills to help them cope.

They are making progress, though it is slow but steady.

And how does this card apply to Risa's situation?

Once again, she is as imbalanced as they come. She has no inner harmony and is not doing anything to grow on any level.

She had the chance to when she was seeing her therapists, as she has so many demons plaguing her.

However, she has given up and has become more of a shell of a human. That is not what the Temperance upright represents.

Once again, Risa relates to Temperance in reverse.

Temperance In Reverse

When Temperance comes up in reverse, it indicates a lack of patience, disharmony, and a lack of balance in life.

It can also represent the onset of illness. So yes, Risa is full of imbalances and conflict.

She is not healthy, as we know.

And how can she align with the Temperance upright?

All of this is easier said than done because I sure have been there, and I think we all have our moments of relating to the Temperance reversed when life is just brutal.

We all know that she could delegate her responsibilities so she has time for self-care, and she could limit her contact with her parents.

She does not have the courage within to do that, unfortunately.

That comes from old programming, which is a common issue that those with C-PTSD face.

Those who have the condition are often told early on that they are not worthy.

And as a result, so many of them become caregivers and neglect their needs.

They don't think their needs are essential as the belief is that everyone else's needs come first.

And that is definitely the case with Risa. So what happens if you are not balancing your needs in addition to the needs of others?

If you go to either extreme, that is Temperance in reverse.

And as far as you go, if you feel as if you are very out of balance, the easiest thing to recommend is to seek a therapist, but that is not always doable.

Let's Talk About How To Use The Temperance In Your Life

Therapists are not cheap, and many insurance plans do not cover sessions substantially.

But what you can do is look for therapists who give free advice on YouTube, as all you want to do is type the issues you are facing, and you will see a list of coaches and therapists that have videos that can potentially help you in so many areas of your life.

There is also a site called 7 Cups that provides affordable therapy, and some of it may be free, but I do not know that for sure, so I am not going to give you any misinformation.

However, check out the site. There may be some helpful resources. There are also support groups on Facebook.

There are so many ways to reach out for help to find some balance within. You are not going to be able to get to a better place if you have no support at all.

It is not realistic. Nothing can motivate you if you don't get the help you need.

That is why it is essential to reach out even if you cannot afford a therapist or if you just find it frustrating that you cannot find one that is suitable for you.

Support is essential because it will validate you, and then once you are feeling validated, you will feel more motivated to find balance in your life and begin to make good progress and get better.

The next card I will talk about next time is the Devil.
