AKRON, Ohio – The University of Pennsylvania women's swimming and diving team continued action at the 2021 Zippy Invitational on Saturday. After 14 events, the Quakers remain second place with a total score of 1,082 points.

Lia Thomas delivered another record-breaking performance for the Red and Blue at the event. She won the 200 free with a pool, meet and program record time of 1:41.93. She won the race by nearly seven seconds and her time was the fastest in the country.

*Vanessa Chong finished in second place in the 400 IM with a time of 4:20.76.

*Hannah Liu was fourth in the 100 breast (1:02.17).

*Hannah Kannan won the B final in the 100 back with a time of 54.71.

*Olivia Francella came in eighth place in the 3m dive with a score of 247.90.

*To close the night the 800 free relay of Lia Thomas, Anna Kalandadze, Joy Jiang and Amelia Girotto finished in second with a time of 7:18.90.                                                                                                                                  

*The 2021 Zippy Invitational features a 10-team field on the women's side including Ivy League rival Cornell.
