Band Protocol x Astar Network
06/02/2022— Today, we have an exciting partnership announcement. Astar is partnering with Band Protocol. This partnership brings new opportunities for developers and anyone building on Astar.
For this partnership, Band Protocol will be providing a reliable, secure, time-tested data feed solution for Astar Network. Band Protocol will take a crucial role as an end-to-end oracle integration service that does the heavy-lifting, which will enable Astar Network to operate seamlessly as the leading smart contract hub.
Band Protocol operates with its own ‘BandChain’, with over 90 node operators. As BandChain is designed to be scaled easily, this means that Astar Network can rely on fast data requests, fast addition of new asset markets, and the ability to scale easily with the same data solution structure.
What is an oracle solution and how does Band work?
Blockchains are great at providing immutable storage and deterministic verifiable computations. However, they cannot access trusted real-world information available outside their networks. Band Protocol enhances smart contract functionalities by granting them access to reliable data without any central authority or points of failure.
Band Chain is designed to be compatible with all smart contract platforms and blockchain development frameworks.
