I appreciate the many layers you offer: the poem itself, the personal reflection, the reflection one must make about our cultural and societal reaction to ‘difference’, the return to the technical aspects of poetry which appeal intellectually. So much in one page!
ur lip is badass tbh. also kudos to Frank, one of my faves being 'Melancholy Breakfast.' Also brings me to a quote on the wall at an old breakfast place I used to live by, "Her eyes were dark with pain and she was eating buttered toast in a crushed sort of way."
