If 'gain of function' research funded by Anthony Fauci/NIAID had been properly quashed when it first emerged publicly in late 2011, i.e. research into making H5N1/bird flu more transmissible, perhaps we wouldn't be in this shambles...
I challenged this research at the time, when it was called 'dual use research', arguing that it could be in breach of the Biological Weapons Convention.
