Recently, a veteran who was stationed on Guam in the mid-1970s shared photos on Facebook of chemicals sprayed on the island. The Pacific Island Times report links the photos to Agent Orange use on the island.
These kids from Marianas High School were victorious in their district in a Congressional App Challenge. Their app, A’ayuda, helps people learn and share CHamoru and Carolinian language, per The Guam Daily Post.
Women from Micronesia are speaking out and sharing their stories in a new publication titled “We Don’t Whisper Anymore,” the Marshall Islands Journal reports. The stories aim to spread awareness bout violence against women. Read their stories here.

The Pacific Elders Voice urged Fiji’s prime minister to push Australia to commit to greater climate action. The Island Times report states:
The Pacific Elders said while Australia claimed to be part of the “Pacific family” it failed to make strong commitments to address the climate crisis.
The flooding in the low-lying islands last week led to major damage prompting Chuuk to declare a state of emergency.

What is the State of Emergency in Chuuk? I am asking because that is the title of this post but I do not see the story about Chuuk.
