What’s an event?
An event happens when you call any of our API methods, like identify or track, from any of our client libraries (javascript, ios, android, node, python, etc…). One call to Segment’s API counts as one API call, even if we send that data to multiple analytics services on your behalf. Things like exception and error tracking don’t count as API calls.
Are API calls monthly or all-time?
The number of calls listed is your monthly maximum.
Is there a free trial?
Yes, there is a 14 day free trial on all plans. We won’t ask for your credit card or bill you until the trial has expired.
What if I decide to cancel?
If you no longer wish to use Segment, you can cancel at any time. At that point, your subscription will last until the end of the current monthly billing cycle.
Can I send data from my mobile apps?
Yep. All of these plans include access from any of our supported platforms: web, server, and mobile from any of our supported languages and the REST API.
Do I pay for each service separately?
Yes. Each analytics tool charges separately. You’ll create a separate account with each service and pay them and Segment separately.
Can you add additional services?
Sure! We add services all the time, but if there’s an additional one that’s not listed, send us an email at friends@segment.com and we’ll get the conversation started.
