ABOUT

Co-founder: Catherine Carnevale at the ELEVEN SIX design studio in Kingston, NY

"ELEVEN SIX was born from a combination of Catherine’s birth date in the European style, Eleven June, and their son Oliver’s due date in customary U.S form, November Six."

Catherine and Nick, the British couple behind the label, chose to follow their hearts in pursuit of their true passions. Inspired by a trip she took with her husband to the Sacred Valley of the Incas in Peru, Catherine made the decision to leave her career in corporate fashion, Nick having done the same some years prior. Pregnant at the time and in awe by the life growing inside her, ELEVEN SIX was born from a combination of Catherine’s birth date in the European style, Eleven June, and their son Oliver’s due date in customary U.S form, November Six. ELEVEN SIX was launched in February 2015 with the first Women’s knitwear collection and Men’s Knitwear was introduced in 2021. Catherine, Nick and their two children now live full - time in Upstate New York and have a design studio and retail store in Kingston at the historic Fuller Building. Their love of travel and eye for unique, handcrafted, and beautiful products influences the pair's work.

KNITWEAR

"ELEVEN SIX offers an effortless, yet elevated approach to knit dressing. As a mother, wife, and entrepreneur, Catherine designs for the modern woman in need of a versatile wardrobe to suit a lifestyle of work, travel and play."

ELEVEN SIX is an ethically produced knitwear brand. As a child growing up in England, Catherine learned to knit from her mother and grandmother; encouraged by her love for the art, she studied Fashion Textiles at the prestigious Central Saint Martins and then Knitwear at the University of Brighton. Since moving to New York in 2002, she has designed knitwear for Calvin Klein, Anne Klein and Club Monaco, where she was, most recently, Senior Director of Knitwear. Nick studied at the London College of Fashion and was a Men’s fashion buyer for many years.

Combining contemporary design with traditional Andean knitting techniques, ELEVEN SIX offers an effortless, yet elevated approach to knit dressing. As a mother, wife, and entrepreneur, Catherine designs for the modern woman in need of a versatile wardrobe to suit a lifestyle of work, travel and play. Inspired by Peru’s rich heritage of craftsmanship in textiles, modern separates are created from the finest spun Alpaca yarns and Peruvian pima cottons. Worn alone or mixed and matched for a head-to-toe look, refined silhouettes evoke a relaxed femininity that is underscored by a signature neutral palette. Intended to be worn cross - seasonally, these core neutrals allow the Eleven Six woman to compose a wardrobe that allows for just that.

ARTISAN MAKERS

Artisan workshop outside of Lima, Peru

"We partner with three, small family - owned businesses who in - turn work with networks of smaller workshops and cooperatives predominantly outside of Lima, Peru."

The majority of our knitwear collections are produced with highly skilled artisan men and women in Peru. We partner with three, small family - owned businesses who in-turn work with networks of smaller workshops and cooperatives predominantly outside of Lima, Peru. The artisan makers are empowered by working in an entrepreneurial environment and are dedicated to the production of high-quality pieces using traditional textile techniques of hand and machine knitting, macramé and crochet. The many hours that are devoted to crafting every item makes each piece produced by an artisan one of a kind. The handmade pieces have a hang tag denoting the artist’s signature and an edition number that passes on some handcrafted love to its new owner. Created in limited quantities t o Catherine’s design and technical specifications, each ELEVEN SIX knitted piece has its own identity inherent to its craft-oriented fabrication. Picking out a piece from an Eleven Six collection is like finding something uniquely crafted yet versatile; it’s often something the wearer loves and wears timelessly through seasons ahead.

ALPACA

"Soft and silky to the touch, the experience of feeling baby alpaca against the skin may make you never want to take it off."

Alpaca is a luxurious fiber and our brand’s yarn of choice. Indigenous to South America, the Peruvian Alpaca is shorn once yearly; ELEVEN SIX exclusively uses yarn that is natural, sustainable, eco friendly and ethical at the source of our manufacturing. Baby alpaca, the prime, supple fleece produced by alpacas of all ages, is the primary fiber in each ELEVEN SIX piece in the two main cold weather knitwear collections per year. Through the process of evolution, the Alpaca has developed fleece that allows the hypoallergenic fiber to withstand the cold as well as the equatorial warmth. Very simply, that means that Eleven Six collections span the breadth of all seasons, keeping you warm in the winter and cool in the spring/summer. Soft and silky to the touch, the experience of feeling baby alpaca against the skin may make you never want to take it off. For our yarn source, we work with two prestigious, Peruvian, Alpaca mills that adhere to the highest, sustainable standards.
