Donald Trump's attempts to overturn the 2020 election and overthrow a duly elected government has not ended. Instead, he has systematically moved to ensure that those who stood in the way of his coup are replaced. And, as Judd reports here, this effort is being underwritten by many of this country's leading corporations. All of this is happening in plain sight, but the mainstream media has barely reported on this story and the American people appear to be unmoved. Wonder how America reacts when a handful of governors, state legislatures, and local election officials ignore their state's results and install Trump & Co. as dictators.

I am livid at how this is all being ignored. Shame on the media for ignoring what should be the number news story EVERY SINGLE NIGHT.

Perhaps we should be happy for the lack of "the oxygen of publicity" being given to #MangoWanker?

Just until he’s either subpoenaed or hauled off to the loony bin, I think. Then we can wave at him on the tv.

Ugh but then we’d have to see that ugly fake-tanned Orange Globe every single night too. No, let’s keep this in the print media for now.

These are all things that have been obvious for a long time now to anyone who is paying attention. Bill Maher outlined it equally well in his show last Friday. And shame on the Democrats in Congress for ignoring this slow-motion coup. For the Republicans, election denialism long ago stopped being about 2020 and started being about 2022 and 2024. We get the government we deserve and so long as the House and Senate Democrats continue to stick their heads in the sand (obviously there are a few exceptions, but for the most part we hear NOTHING from them about what is going on in this regard), we will end up with permanent Republican control of the country. Think that things are bad now? Think that they were bad from 2017-2021, when the Orange Asscactus ran the country? Just wait until we get Trump 2.0, when he will be out for revenge against anyone who "wronged" him. Just wait until we have singular Republican control of the Federal Government and we get a federal "election integrity" law that wipes out mail-in ballots in states, requires national voter IDs, etc. (don't think that it'll happen? Just watch.). Just wait until the Justice Department is weaponized to go after all of the "enemies" of the Trump family. Just wait until the few environmental regulations we have left are eliminated. I could go on, but you all get the point.

The Democrats have an opportunity to stop all of this, or at least slow it down, but they're obsessed with their infrastructure and "human capital" bills. Are those important? Of course they are, but NOTHING is as important as guaranteeing voting rights because that will determine who is in power in the future. We have one party that is gaming the system to guarantee itself permanent control of the country, and the other party is acting as if that isn't happening. It's at best naive and at worst borderline insane. So........Voting Rights legislation is the solution. NOW. Because, after 2022 it will be too late, if it is even possible.

Here’s a crazy idea. Put the criminals who incited and carried out the terrorism & deadly coup attempt in prison. We’re loathe to making those at the top accountable. Multitudes of psychiatrists and psychologists declared 45 unfit for office. The deadly coup attempt should have been the definitive end of the line. But it can’t be done because Democrats bow out of any follow through. So many years of non-accountability has led us here.

Prosecutions (or persecutions as former Asshat in chief calls them) are in progress. Sh*t takes time but it’ll happen.

I’d like to think so, it seems obvious to us, but look at federal judges, SCOTUS etc… Biden needs to expand the Supreme Court to inspire any confidence in me.

Wow you set the bar pretty damned high for a President. I’m not holding my breath on (or even supporting) S ct expansion, more hoping Kavanaugh will get booted off, or drown in his own vomit (hey a girl can dream!), and likewise A-hat whose reelectability started this chat. Or maybe he’ll impale himself on his putter. Or, yknow, both. But I remain in the 38% who are still giving Biden a chance, after LESS THAN ONE YEAR IN OFFiCE. This ain’t Instagram.

The non-accountability started decades and decades ago. Mary Trump writes about it in The Reckoning

If you read my last sentence..I am well aware of total lack of accountability from years ago. But isn’t the top of the heap Trump? Psychopathic lying, raging, misleading hundreds of thousands to Covid deaths, encouraging murderous acts on his own government!!? All of those not held to account previously have helped lead to this point.

oh he's the worst of the worst of the most corrupt of all time. I think the history of this country in letting rich and powerful people get away with crimes is making it even harder to prosecute The Big Liar for all of his crimes than it might be if centuries of precedent didn't include privileged people literally getting away with murder

Well, this is a review of all that people like me already know, and I am tempted to send it to those who never read any of the things that I read. But, all those people so is "push back" with what-aboutisms. The tide is turning somewhat with the MSM in that so many of us are crying out to them to quit trying to present "both sides" as though both sides are equivalent in their purposes and values. I Tweeted you yesterday, Judd, about the move to buy up all the kinds of homes that first-time buyers would be able to afford with their pre-approved VA Loans. Please check to see (I don't know where to begin if not with you) when that policy of awarding 1.4% interest interest cash loans to corporate mega-buyers so that they can edge out the VA approved loan customers and turn the properties in tons of former family attractive neighborhoods with good schools, low crime, etc. into rental property. It's just another egregious way to edge out any chance of "growing wealth" by lower to lower middle class people in this country. I suspect it started under Trump and is going to those who supported him with dark money and overt contributions, too. A much bigger brouhaha should be happening over this. Throw it into the pot with LeJoy's former ownership of the trucking company that is now getting the contracts too move mail more slowly by ground. Arggg!

I’m afraid that if these voter restrictions and nullification actions are allowed to continue, and we do not pass a voters rights act of some form that stops this GOP Partisan election oversight (and the ability to subvert accurate election results) our country will be in serious trouble.

We will be an oligarchy run authoritarian government almost identical to Russia.

If you think goods and services are hard to get now — just wait until that happens!

I'm pessimistic about the future. This is a coup and it looks like it's going to succeed. Life will get worse and worse for the majority until eventually, there is blood on the streets. (more of it) Our system has failed and there's nobody working to reform it in the ways it needs. One example, an 88-year-old running for yet another term in the Senate. We have young people ready and willing to actually serve the nation but our insane system rewards the bought-and-paid-for geriatrics to stay put feathering their nests, in it only for themselves.

I do not understand why the media has not called this what it really is-TREASON! I thought a military tribunal could try Trump and execute him for treason. The longer this goes on, the more voting rights are trampled and the closer we come to civil war. Everyone in America should be absolutely livid about this-instead the news keeps airing fradulent claims and giving Trump publicity. Again, publically hanging him and then some of his treasonous supporters would put all of this to rest. I believe in a free press, but I do not believe in handing someone the microphone and letting them run off at the mouth and tell lie after lie without consequences. I watch senators and congresspeople doing and saying the most outrageous things with absolutely no proof-this is insane. I talk to people who really do not think that anything big happenedd on January 6, 2020. I do not see how anyone could watch what happened at the Capital and not be absolutely OUTRAGED at what happened there on January 6th.

The single most important thing we can do to stop #MangoWanker Turdking IS TO STOP STUPID CHILDISH INFIGHTING BETWEEN DEMS IN THE HOUSE. Voters hate that crap. Fcking GROW UP ! remember 2010!!!!!

How much of that 'infighting' is actual infighting and how much is "Dems in Disarray" reporting by the alleged "liberal media"?
