as New National Intelligence Officer for Cyber at the National Intelligence Council
Prior to joining the National Intelligence Council, Mr. Porter served as the Chief Technology Officer for Cybersecurity Policy at FireEye, a major cybersecurity company headquartered in California. Mr. Porter also served on the Board of Advisors at Amber Video, where he worked alongside other technology experts to combat the proliferation of fake video and deep fake technology. Mr. Porter also previously worked for the CIA, where he received the National Intelligence Analysis Award and Cyber Threats Group Director’s Award for Innovation and was centrally involved in the publication of a key National Intelligence Estimate.
“I am thankful for the opportunity to serve my country again as a part of the US intelligence community. It’s a great honor that I will have to work hard to live up to,” Mr. Porter said.
“Chris Porter brings a great wealth of experience in the public and private sector to his new role helping oversee strategic cyber work across the Intelligence Community at the National Intelligence Council,” said Jamil N. Jaffer, Founder and Executive Director of the National Security Institute at George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School. He added, “Chris will have a unique opportunity to engage in addressing critically important issues in his new position and we at NSI are excited to work with him in this new role,” said Jaffer.
