ENF Grant Framework
The EOS Network Foundation announced the ENF Grant Framework, an efficient, transparent, and milestone-driven grant investment framework that will usher in a new era of development opportunity previously unavailable to network participants.
The ENF has brought significant value into the EOS ecosystem by funding the Working Group Blue Papers, Pomelo, Eden, recognition grants and OCI, but the approach to funding has been necessarily ad hoc so far because EOS lacked a streamlined & scalable grant framework. The EOS Network Foundation started creating the ENF Grant Framework in late 2021 and first announced intentions to form this kind of funding mechanism in Yves La Rose’s article, Grant Framework Towards A Stronger Future. Since then, a great deal of study and consideration has been given to balancing the needs of the developer community with the integrity and flexibility required to make the grant process as helpful as possible.
With the EOS Network Foundation Grant Framework, the ENF has developed a detailed multi-level grant program to help power research, software development, and maintenance of the EOSIO code base. ENF Grants have clear guidelines, a multi-stage grant application & approval process, and a milestone based pay-out system. More specific grant guidelines are provided for popular grant categories, including developments to the core EOSIO chain or sub-modules, development tools, UI Development, backend development, and cryptography.
The ENF Grant Framework is open to individuals, small teams, and companies alike, with three grant levels scaled to fit the scope of each initiative. Three types of grants are available to both “for profit” and “public good” entities, with the goal that all grants will benefit the EOS ecosystem. All forms of projects are encouraged to apply for grants, though preference will be given to those with strong technical projects that clearly add to the public good.
The ENF Grant Framework is supported by an all-star cast of EOS community leaders who form the Committee, Evaluators, and Operations Team to drive the process for ENF Direct Grants. The EOS Network Grant Framework provides a major new pillar of support for the EOS ecosystem and synergizes with other funding pillars (such as Pomelo, Eden, and ENF Ventures) to efficiently compensate all value creators & foster highly productive development cycles within the EOS ecosystem.
Pomelo Season 2
Pomelo Season 2 is in full swing and the EOS community is buzzing with activity!
You can now log in to Pomelo.io to support exciting projects that you love and amplify your donations with the power of quadratic funding. Over 130 grants have been approved and public good creators have raised more than 12 thousand EOS from over 700 unique donors so far. In total, Season 2 is distributing over $1,000,000 to approved grants, which is about twice as much as Season 1. This is an excellent opportunity to support exciting projects that you love and help reward people who are creating public goods for the EOSIO community.
Public good grant owners are encouraged to tweet a description of their approved grant and tag @PomeloGrants & #PomeloGrants to increase exposure for their public goods. Public good creators can create grant submissions until April 11th. If you are a grant applicant returning from Season 1, click the “Join Season 2” button and edit your application to provide Season 1 updates and clarify your scope for Season 2. Public good grant owners can promote their project and community members can learn about public goods in Weekly Fireside chats on the EOS Community Discord, Pomelo Pitch Deck episodes with GenerEOS, and Tencent Meetings on WeChat. EOSIO+ Coalition
The EOS Network Foundation formed a coalition and combined development resources with Telos, Wax, and UX Network to take over the development of the EOSIO protocol core code that underlies each of these blockchains. This coalition committed a combined $8 million annual budget for core development and developer outreach in 2022.
The process of assembling the coalition of EOSIO blockchains began in January of 2022 and at various times included several other EOSIO protocol projects such as Ultra, Proton, FIO, EVA, Bullish, and Voice. Over several weeks the various teams discussed models for cooperation, decision making, financial support and development priorities via weekly, video-recorded Zoom meetings.
Development is set to begin immediately with priorities defined in the four “Blue Papers”, previously commissioned by the ENF, which represent a detailed overview of the current state of EOSIO with more than seventy-five proposals to enhance the protocol. Some of the first projects users may see are developer SDKs for easier EOSIO development, wallet improvements and sub-second transaction finality. All code developed by the group will be open source and available for any EOSIO protocol-based projects to use freely.

Weekly Mandel Upgrade Meeting
Twelve EOS community leaders met for the eighth Mandel Upgrade Meeting to share the latest news and updates regarding the upcoming EOS Mandel Consensus Upgrade. EOS previously operated with the EOSIO software developed by Block One for the past several years, but now the EOS community is developing the Mandel core software independently.
The participants shared many helpful and exciting details during this week’s meeting. The transaction lifecycle features being developed by OCI are currently expected to be available on the Jungle testnet in June and three senior level EOSIO engineers recently hired by the ENF will begin working on Mandel this week.

Second Official Eden Election
The second official Eden Election took place on April 9th and EOS community members expressed great enthusiasm for the next era of true democracy on EOS with the process defined in More Equal Animals.
Approximately one hundred Eden Members met on live video calls to choose leaders and allocate funding for the benefit of EOS. Participants were randomly placed into twenty-five groups of approximately five people and each group discussed for up to an hour to choose a delegate from their group. Altogether, the community selected twenty-four Eden Delegates to help lead the community and allocate funding for EOS. The Eden Delegates then repeated the same process to select five Chief Delegates who will receive a greater amount of funding and help lead the community on weekly Chief Delegate Meetings.
The five newly elected Chief Delegates are Brock Pierce, Chuck MacDonald, Edgar Fernandez, Gracie Lau, and Michael O’Sullivan. Edgar Fernandez was selected as the Head Chief via sortition and is scheduled to receive the highest amount of funding, though the amount of funding could change in the future if the new Chief Delegates ratify the bylaw changes proposed by the previous administration. There is almost 200k EOS in the Eden treasury that will be programmatically disbursed to Eden Delegates every month.

EOSIO+联盟成立

每周Mandel升级会议
上周，12 位 EOS 社区领袖齐聚第八次 Mandel 升级会议，分享有关即将到来的 EOS Mandel 共识升级的最新消息及系统更新。 EOS 过去曾使用 Block.One 开发的 EOSIO 软件运行，但现在 EOS 社区正在独立开发 Mandel 核心软件。

第二届Eden官方选举完成

두 번째 공식 Eden 선거
지난 4월 9일 제2회 공식 Eden 선거가 진행 되었으며 ESO커뮤니티 회원들은 More Equal Animals에 정의된 프로세스를 통해 EOS에서 진정한 민주주의의 다음 시대에 대해 뜨거운 관심을 보였습니다.
Eden 회원 약 100명이 라이브 화상 통화를 통해 리더를 선택하고 EOS를 위한 자금을 할당했습니다. 참가자는 약 5명으로 구성된 25개 그룹으로 무작위 배치되었으며 각 그룹은 최대 1시간 동안 토론 후 그룹 대표를 선택했습니다. 커뮤니티는 커뮤니티를 이끌고 EOS에 대한 기금을 할당하는 데 도움을 줄 24명의 Eden 대표자를 모두 선택했습니다. 그런 다음 Eden 대표자(Delegates)는 동일한 프로세스를 반복하여 더 많은 자금을 지원받고 매주 열리는 수석 대표 회의 에서 커뮤니티를 이끌 5명의 수석 대표를 선정 했습니다.
새로 선출된 5명의 수석 대표는 Brock Pierce , Chuck MacDonald , Edgar Fernandez , Gracie Lau, Michael O’Sullivan 입니다. 에드가 페르난데스(Edgar Fernandez)는 선별을 통해 수석 대표로 선출되었으며 가장 많은 자금을 지원받을 예정이지만, 새 수석 대표가 이전 정부에서 제안한 내규 변경 사항을 승인하면 자금 액수가 변경될 수 있습니다. Eden의 자금은 200,000개의 EOS가 있으며 매월 Eden 대표자에게 프로그래밍 방식으로 지급될 예정입니다.
