Job Description

  • Summary of role:

    • Take a lead role in the application of our Revenue Recognition policies and procedures to all transactions with our customers, partners and resellers. Provide advice and guidance to the Revenue Accountant.

  • Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

    • Deputises for Manager, Revenue Accounting with delegated authority as directed.

    • Coaching and development of the Revenue Accountant

    • Delivers sections of the monthly revenue close process, which includes preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and analysis of Deferred Revenue, Booked Revenue and Royalty Expenses

    • Responsible for the monthly commission close process for both resellers and in-house sales teams, working with internal stakeholders to ensure payments are reported in line with timetable

    • Performs regular and systematic accurate review of standard contracts to ensure compliance with revenue recognition policy, under the guidance of the Manager, Revenue Accounting.

    • Establishes and updates revenue and commission related desktop procedures

    • Lead the maintenance and update of internal documentation for revenue policies, procedures and controls, flagging suggestions for improvement and efficiency

    • Assist the Manager, Revenue Accounting in providing support to the sales organization and finance/accounting teams in regards to revenue and royalty recognition policies

    • Take the lead on the preparation of month end balance sheet reconciliations, providing guidance to the Revenue Accountant. 

    • Assists with schedule preparation and inquiries related to year-end audit

    • Take a specialist role in Group wide projects and initiatives

    • Developing expert knowledge of revenue recognition under US GAAP

Qualifications

  • Requirements:

    • 3-4 years experience working in Revenue Accounting (ideally in a SaaS company)

    • High level expertise in Excel

    • Experience with contract reviews, excel based reconciliations and month end tasks

    • Netsuite experience Ideal

    • Ownership, Accountability and reliability are key
