Job Description

The Curation team is responsible for showcasing and contextualizing the best events and stories that unfold on Twitter. Its work, across multiple product surfaces, including Topics, Trends and Moments, makes it easy for customers to experience only-on Twitter conversations and get the most out of the platform, regardless of which accounts they follow.

The Twitter Curation team sits within Twitter’s Product team, with a mission to increase participation in healthy conversation. The Curation Standards team shapes how curation happens globally, including training and style guidance, across Topics, Moments, Trends contextualization and other projects. 

Who you are:

We’re looking for a highly-skilled Lead, Standards (Training), which can be remote or located in a curation office on the US east coast, to help our global Curation team hone its skills to meet the highest standards of accuracy, impartiality, consistency and transparency. This person will work closely with the Head of Curation Standards and manage a global team, with a focus on continuing to improve our guidance, processes, documentation and training to empower the Curation team to serve our growing global audience. 

The ideal candidate is an experienced people manager passionate about helping others grow. They’re excited about creating processes, policies and training to guide others. They’re thoughtful about how our decisions serve Twitter’s users. They’re able to collaborate across timezones and specialties, turning the findings into meaningful recommendations for processes, training and tools for a global team.

 

Success in this role is measured by:

  • Driving a team culture dedicated to accurate, impartial, transparent and thoughtful representation of voices

  • Providing easy-to-understand, constructive feedback to aid team and individual development

  • Establishing best practices and written guidance to serve a global team

  • Fostering cross-functional relationships, including with technical teams, to ensure that standards are understood and upheld across multiple teams and technologies. 

  • Using data to identify areas of opportunity for new standards, team training and tooling

  • Supporting the team to improve consistency of practice 

What you'll do:

  • Coach and support the projects and professional development of their team

  • Communicate clearly and concisely with a multi-lingual, multicultural team located around the world

  • Communicate our standards and how decisions are made with cross-functional partners

  • Create processes that can be used globally to improve projects and process

  • Assist in defining priorities of the Curation Standards function

  • Collaborate with leads and curators to develop training, policies and mentorship programs

  • Identify training opportunities based on curation data

  • Assist with other strategic projects as they develop

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in related space, with expertise and passion for mentoring and developing others

  • Written and verbal fluency in English; plus one other language

  • Excellent written communication skills

  • Expertise using data and research to improve processes

  • BA/BSc degree or equivalent experience
