Berlin, 29 April 2021 – As the pioneer of quick commerce (“q-commerce”), Delivery Hero SE (“Delivery Hero”) continues to heavily expand this business area, reporting a 400% YoY growth of quick commerce orders in Q1 2021. In April, the world’s leading local delivery platform processed on average more than 400,000 quick commerce orders per day, and Delivery Hero expects further growth as customer demands are evolving even more towards convenience and speed.

Quick commerce is the future of delivery. Delivery Hero has grown to lead this space in a very short period of time. With q-commerce, we don’t only cater to changing customer expectations, but also make a positive impact for local economies. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond, small businesses need to expand their offering to an online customer base in order to thrive. Together with Delivery Hero, they are now able to compete with established players, and we’re excited to be their digital partner for this commerce revolution.

Niklas Östberg, CEO and Co-founder of Delivery Hero

As the world’s leading local delivery platform, Delivery Hero is well positioned to leverage its existing customer base to drive this new vertical –  both as a principal and as a partner. Today, Delivery Hero collaborates with more than 80,000 local businesses, supporting the local ecosystem by providing them with an additional stream of revenue and access to online customers. Complementary to this, Delivery Hero operates over 600 Dmarts across 35 countries in Asia, Europe, Latin America and the MENA region, with more countries to be added this summer. When delivering from Dmarts, Delivery Hero can bring items to customers’ doorsteps within a record speed of 10 to 15 minutes, as the stores are optimized for delivery and strategically located.

At Delivery Hero, we believe that quick commerce is not only changing the foundations of the delivery industry, but that it is reshaping customers’ experiences as a whole. We strongly believe that this service will soon become an intrinsic part of people’s lives, leading them to wonder what they did before it existed.
