Representative Jody Hice said he intends to challenge the electoral votes from his state of Georgia following a video allegedly showing suitcases full of illegal ballots.

“I’m totally convinced that the fraudulent activity was widespread,” Representative Hice said Thursday morning in an interview with The National Desk anchor Jan Jeffcoat. “What else do you need, other than a video showing people being escorted and told to leave the room, followed by other individuals taking suitcases of ballots out and counting them?”

Georgia’s secretary of state office addressed the video in question in a news conference earlier this month, saying that the suitcases were not full of fake ballots but instead valid, uncounted ballots that were packed up due to a miscommunication. The office also said it was investigating why partisan poll observers left before scanning was concluded. Officials also did acknowledge vote-counting went on election night until the early morning hours, but there are differing claims as to why some poll workers left and others did not.

Representative Hice asserts the issue is not who wins, but to uncover fraud in order to ensure fair elections.

“If we lose the integrity of the voting box in this country, we lose our republic in the long haul,” said Representative Hice. “I believe either side will accept the outcome provided it’s a true election, a fair election. That’s what we want.”
