You will serve as Biogen’s subject matter expert in biostatistics and data science on observational studies and a portfolio of clinical trials in the Evidence Generation and Advanced Analytics (EGAA) group. 

What You’ll Do

• Lead and execute evidence generation activities based on observational studies and clinical trials aimed at developing digital endpoints/biomarkers from sensor-derived and mHealth data in neurological disorders such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and motor neuron diseases

• Collaborate with evidence generation teams to develop and execute short- and long-term analytical plan for ongoing and planned studies aimed at validating digital endpoints and biomarkers

• Lead evidence generation workstreams on digital medicine and digital endpoints/biomarkers across neurological disorders in partnership with BDH Science units and Worldwide Medical therapeutic areas medical directors

• Provide subject matter expertise and technical support in biostatistics, machine learning and artificial intelligence (MLAI) to advance the validation of digital endpoints and biomarkers

Qualifications

Required Education/ Skills

  • MS with 2-4 years of experience or a PhD (preferred) in Biostatistics, Statistics, Mathematics, Epidemiology, Outcomes Research, Economics or equivalent with 0-3 years of experience.
  • Deep understanding of established analytical/modeling methodologies in biostatistics, pharmacoepidemiology, and MLAI for observational studies and clinical trials, including for modeling of longitudinal data
  • Programming experience with R, Python or other statistical software packages (SAS, Java, or Matlab) 

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with machine learning / deep learning tools or frameworks (Scikit learn, Spark, Tensorflow, Keras, or PyTorch) is an asset
  • Experience with cloud computing environments (AWS, Azure, Google cloud, Databricks)
