Connections To Moby Dick
The connections to Moby Dick, so far, are this:
Moby Dick Studio was a "Phantom" studio run by a man by the name of "Joakim." The photo below is obviously an edited picture of series creator Kojima. Also, "Joakim" is an anagram for Kojima.
There are also quotes from the novel Moby-Dick that appear to reference MGS 5 or vice versa. For example:
advertisement
"He looked like a man cut away from the stake, when the fire has overrunningly wasted all the limbs without consuming them, or taking away one particle from their compacted aged robustness... Threading its way out from among his grey hairs, and continuing right down one side of his tawny scorched face and neck, till it disappeared in his clothing, you saw a slender rod-like mark, lividly whitish. It resembled that perpendicular seam sometimes made in the straight, lofty trunk of a great tree, when the upper lightning tearingly darts down it, and without wrenching a single twig, peels and grooves out the bark from top to bottom ere running off into the soil, leaving the tree still greenly alive, but branded."
—Moby-Dick, Ch. 28
"When fire was overrunningly wasted all the limbs without consuming them."
This can be a connection of the lost limb that we see in the trailer. The claw that we see of a left hand. It can also mean to be swallowed hole by the whale. The flaming whale.
"Taking away one particle from thier compacted aged robustness... Threading its way out from among his grey hairs."
In Ground Zeroes, Big Boss has brown hair. He goes into a coma for 9 years. Wakes up in Phantom Pain with grey hair.
"Continuing right down one side of his tawny scorched face and neck."

The Phantom Pain trailer shows Big Boss with a scorched and bloody face.
"When the upper lightning tearingly darts down it, and without wrenching a single twig, peels and grooves out the bark from top to bottom ere running off into the soil, leaving the tree still greenly alive, but branded."
Something happens to Big Boss to cause him to be left in a coma. Also, leaving him branded with a piece of shrapnel embeded in his forehead that looks like a horn.
So far, these are the connections from the book Moby Dick to MGS5. These are all just theories and speculation, but I think they are accurate. Please feel free to give your input and thoughts on what I have here.
