Product Manager, Home Timeline

  • Full-time

Company Description

Twitter is what’s happening and what people are talking about right now. For us, life's not about a job, it's about purpose. We believe real change starts with conversation. Here, your voice matters. Come as you are and together we'll do what's right (not what's easy) to serve the public conversation.

The Home team (part of the Consumer Product organization at Twitter) helps serve that conversation by making it easy for people to find and join the best conversations as they unfold. Our team owns the overall customer experience of the Home tab, including the look and feel of the timeline and the machine learning systems that power Tweet ranking. We drive a significant portion of Twitter’s audience growth and are a high impact team.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Product Manager with a strong background in consumer experiences to help build the future of Twitter’s Home Timeline. Home is at the heart of Twitter: it’s where hundreds of millions of customers catch up with their interests, find and join conversations happening now, and stay entertained. In this role, you’ll drive efforts to ensure the Home experience “just works” for customers – ensuring they always see the best content for them, making it easy for customers to dive deeper on the things they care about, and making it so that anyone, regardless of circumstance, can find interesting content on Twitter.

You’ll work with a world-class team of designers, data scientists, researchers, and engineers to launch new features at scale. If you’re customer-obsessed, a creative and analytical thinking, and seek the thrill of making a massive impact on the heart of the customer experience on Twitter, then this role is for you.

Who We Are:

Twitter's mission is to become the conversational layer of the world. Home plays a major role in driving this mission forward — we help our customers to stay informed about what’s happening, keep up with their interests, and be entertained through a personalized feed that surfaces what matters most to them. Our team owns the look and feel of that experience, including how customers navigate Home and the way Tweets and other content (e.g. Spaces, Communities) is presented. It’s a core part of Twitter that is essential to our continued success and future growth.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Build a deep understanding of our different types of customers and their needs that Home can serve

  • Identify opportunities for Home to better serve those customer needs and work with design, research, data science, and engineering partners to craft, test, and launch new features that meet those needs

  • Collaboratively determine key customer-focused metrics of success for the team’s work and manage the team’s portfolio of projects against those metrics, including making complex ship decisions where needed

  • Partner closely with other product teams to support efficient decision making, principled product ideation, and smooth project execution

Qualifications

Who you are:

  • 4+ years of PM experience with 2+ years in a consumer-focused team

  • Have a track record of shipping great consumer products at scale

  • Demonstrated experience in building successful cross-functional partnerships (especially with design, research, data science, and engineering) and successfully navigating complex stakeholder environments

  • A strong quantitative skill-set with a dedication to rigorous data driven experimentation and decision-making, and an ability to drive to decisions when the metrics are unclear

  • Experience of going through a full product lifecycle, integrating customer feedback into product requirements, driving prioritization and pre/post-launch execution

  • Comfortable working in a fluid, fast-paced environment

  • A strong growth-mindset and a servant-leadership approach
