Last winter, Flexa took a major step toward the goal of enabling spending in any digital currency with additional support for numerous new digital assets. And today, Flexa-enabled apps can make payments in over 99 digital currencies at merchants across the United States, Canada, and El Salvador.

With today’s introduction of Flexa Payments, making payments with digital currencies is now easier than ever—no matter what app you prefer. And for the most seamless and secure payments experience available anywhere, Flexa Payments works closely with Flexa’s Spend SDK, the best-in-class drop-in payments integration for digital asset wallets that enables support for all kinds of digital currency payments more easily than ever before.

Today, Flexa is excited to announce ten developers of some of the most popular apps across several digital currency ecosystems who have joined the Flexa Developer Grants program. Each of these ten developer participants has signed on to integrate the Flexa Spend SDK into their apps in order to enable a digital payments experience with all the features that the Flexa and Amp communities have come to expect. As part of this commitment, each developer will receive 10,000,000 AMP worth of network capacity—which will be staked to their app as initial collateral for payments when their Spend SDK integration goes live.

Without further ado, the Developer Grant recipients for Spring 2022:

  • Argent is the first super-app for Ethereum, letting you buy, earn and trade in a tap. It’s simple, secure and affordable. Argent is backed by Paradigm and was founded in 2017.
  • Leap is a non-custodial super wallet for Terra, bringing together the best of the Terra ecosystem into an easy to use and intuitive consumer wallet. Leap is currently available as a browser extension, with the iOS and Android apps launching shortly.
  • Litewallet is the most popular wallet for the Litecoin community. Built by the Litecoin Foundation, Litewallet focuses on providing a simple, intuitive user experience for everything from buying, storing and soon, spending Litecoin all in one place.
  • Dash Wallet is the official wallet maintained by Dash Core Group, it supports advanced Dash features, including InstantSend which lets you see your newly received Dash in seconds. You can scan and display QR codes for quick transfers, backup and restore your wallet, find nearby merchants and crypto ATMs that support Dash, sweep paper wallets, and more. They are available at the respective app stores for Android and iOS.
  • Nighthawk Wallet is a leading Zcash wallet focused on making private transactions easy. Built with a privacy-first mindset to protect transactions from prying eyes, Nighthawk auto-shields transparent ZEC by default to keep all transactions private.
  • Valora makes money borderless, secure, and fast. Users can send money from one continent to the other in a matter of seconds with near zero fees — all through Valora. Valora is a single sign-on to dapps in the Celo ecosystem. Users can collect NFTs, explore decentralized finance (DeFi), and shape communities all through Valora.
  • Node Wallet is launching a non-custodial wallet & SDK with the goal to provide universal financial access for everyone with a mobile phone. Node Wallet is backed by a DeFi consortium, and strives to be the all-in-one wallet solution, with DeFi integrations, stablecoin yield compounding, token swaps, NFTs, efficient cash-in and -out, a dApp browser, and peer-to-peer lending all in one convenient app. Node Wallet is currently incubating and based out of Berkeley, California.
  • Cryptostars is an app for the Tezos ecosystem that parents can use with their kids to teach kids about cryptocurrency while getting paid for doing chores (launching later this year). Parents can set up chores, add a reward for completion and then kids will be able to spend their rewards at locations like Baskin–Robbins, Barnes & Noble and more.
  • AirGap Wallet is a Tezos-first multi-asset wallet with a focus on security. AirGap allows users to utilize a dedicated offline smartphone to secure their digital assets and sign transactions. By keeping all secret information on the offline phone and using a companion online phone, users gain the benefit of security with the usability of a traditional wallet app.
  • Eternl (formerly CCVaultio) is one of the leading wallets supporting the Cardano ecosystem. Eternl lets users store, send, receive, stake and vote, as well as connect to dApps like DEXes and NFT marketplaces. With the integration of Flexa, Cardano users will be able to spend ada everywhere Flexa is accepted.

Between these ten additional apps joining the Flexa network, the newly available Flexa Payments platform, and each of the new Flexa Capacity Transformers that are helping to make payments from any app a reality, Flexa is proud to take yet another giant step towards a pure-digital payments future.
