What the heck was that Super Bowl ad that had a QR code going around a black background that had most viewers saying, “Uh, why are you making me get out of my chair to use my phone to figure out what the heck this is?”?
The answer: It was a Coinbase commercial, as we found out seconds later.
The funny thing about it was that it reminded everyone of the same thing: In a season 4 episode of The Office — “Launch Party” to be exact — the cold open features a meeting in which Dunder Mifflin employees are paying attention to a bouncing DVD logo that just won’t hit the exact corner of the TV … until it finally does.
