DALIAN/BEIJING -- Many Chinese cities will quarantine domestic travelers arriving from other parts of the country in an attempt to prevent the spread of coronavirus infections during the upcoming holiday season.

China starts off January with a three-day break, followed by the Golden Week holiday for the Lunar New Year stretching from Jan. 31 through Feb. 6. People traditionally travel for vacations or family reunions during this period.
