You will focus on supporting the Business Development team on a wide variety of commercial contracts, including data, content, and software license agreements. You will work closely with Legal team colleagues, as well as with business leaders throughout the company, advising on legal risks, business strategies and other issues related to business development. You will help us to build scalable tools and processes to support a fast-growing global business. You must bring exceptional business judgment and creativity to your daily role, and have a track record of collaborating and thriving in a fast-paced, team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Review, draft, and negotiate data, content, and software license agreements, as well as other complex commercial agreements

• Deliver timely, pragmatic, and business-focused legal counsel to your clients and other internal stakeholders, even in ambiguous situations

• Provide guidance on business and legal risks, and company policies and risk tolerance

• Build and improve standard form agreements and legal processes that scale globally

• At least 2 - 4 years of relevant legal experience, ideally with prior in-house experience in a fast-paced and rapidly growing technology or digital media company, and at least 2 years of experience in a law firm, supporting transactions

• Significant experience in drafting and negotiating strategic alliance, partnership, data license and distribution agreements, as well as generally supporting SaaS, API, SDK and other related offerings

• Substantial understanding of intellectual property, licensing, privacy, data security and commercial law

• JD and California Bar admission in good standing (or qualified for and willing to maintain Registered In-House Counsel status with California State Bar)
