The goal of the Health engineering team is to increase the health of the public conversation by building end-to-end solutions that keep spam, manipulation, misinformation, and abuse at bay. We work across the product to detect and mitigate the impact of inauthentic accounts and unhealthy content. Moreover we develop features that drive changes in user behavior. What You’ll Do

As an engineer on the team you'll be responsible for using your creativity, excellent problem solving, and technical skills to increase the health of the public conversation on Twitter. You’ll be collaborating with product owners to build user-facing features that provide our users with more control, transparency, and recourse. You’ll be building high-scale dynamic systems that make us more effective at detecting and acting on unhealthy behaviors.

Qualifications

Who You Are

  • You have experience working with distributed systems in a production setting.

  • You’ve played product engineering roles, and have experience translating complex requirements into scalable, extensible implementations with an eye toward maximizing reuse.

  • You are familiar with standard software engineering methodology, e.g. unit testing, code reviews, design documentation.

  • You have experience in software development and executing using agile / scrum methodologies.

  • You are familiar with the best practices of system and online service design - e.g. monitoring and observability, making informed performance trade-offs, maintainability and extensibility, etc.

  • You know when it’s okay to take on technical debt, and you eventually pay it down.

  • You are interested in working closely with a diverse, multi-functional team.

  • You think critically about users’ and partner teams’ needs and can distill those findings into features and products.

  • You ground your decisions with data and reasoning and can adapt to new information to make informed choices.

  • You enjoy working in a collaborative environment and interact effectively with others.

  • You bring thoughtful perspectives, empathy, creativity, and a positive attitude to solve problems at scale.

  • You’re willing to be mentored and to mentor others. 

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, or a related field, and/or equivalent work experience.

The expected salary range for this role to be performed in Colorado is USD$146,000.00 - USD$204,000.00. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for participation in Twitter’s Performance Bonus Plan and Equity Incentive Plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
