To ensure that our IT organization can fulfill its obligations to deliver outcomes on time and within budget with measurable quality we are hiring a Director to build our IT Project Management Office. This role will report to the VP/Global Head of IT.

Job Description

What You’ll Do

You will partner heavily with IT leadership, Engineering Managers, Senior Business Leaders and other key stakeholders to optimize the delivery of new business capabilities. You will drive uniform project management practices and principles across the delivery efforts of IT.  You are expected to strategically scope and plan projects in collaboration with senior business leaders ensuring alignment to company objectives. You will measure portfolio performance, ROI and enable resource demand planning.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Define, design and mature the IT Service Delivery organization including the underlying practices, processes, operational model and reporting structure

  • Responsible for the development and continued evolution of four key disciplines: IT Project Management, Business Relationship Management, IT Product Management and Demand/Capacity planning

  • Design, implement and evolve a strong Business Relationship Management mechanism to better align the strategic needs of the business with the capabilities of the IT organization

  • Drive the re-imagination of the IT Project Management and Delivery function with a strong emphasis on program execution, reporting, business communication, budget management and customer satisfaction

  • Evolve and mature the IT Product Management function and instill a strategic mindset into the organization.  Must be capable of developing the ‘capability - strategy - capacity - product’ value chain and maturing leaders whom can articulate the nuances of each to the business

  • Process engineering and change management expert who balances experience and intuition to identify flawed process, develops process efficiency by having just enough but not too much process and can implement operational metric models to evidence efficacy through data

  • Create human capital demand management models to ensure an optimal balance of work to resource(s) is achieved - leverages these data models to make strategic commitments, prioritize work and support long range planning

  • Engage with senior leadership to present insights on project efforts, strategic product roadmaps, identify key grow areas and address risks to the delivery of new capabilities

  • Be the voice of IT to the business representing IT efforts in delivery of product and services

  • Digitize the project management process, implement tracking capabilities and use data to increase transparency of portfolio health and operational efficiency

  • Partner with Finance to ensure all project related expense and costs are properly processed and capital labor is in line with budget requirements

  • Ensure adherence to corporate standards including Legal, Data Privacy, Compliance, etc.

  • Focused effort on driving concrete business benefit and enable IT to demonstrate its value in terms of cost and service quality 

  • Brings joy and creativity to the role

Qualifications

 

  • Must have 10+ years of project/program management and service delivery experience
  • 10+ years of leading and developing high performing organizations

  • 7+ years supporting large enterprise projects and services; understands the nuances of strong and timely project delivery

  • 5+ years engaging with and reporting out information to senior leadership

  • 5+ years creating data models for resource capacity planning and demand management

  • Mastery of portfolio management tools, best practices and methodologies

  • Must be able to define insightful metrics for portfolio health, project cost optimization and operational efficiency

  • Must have experience leading technology projects

  • Strategic thinker who can connect results to company goals

  • Strong conflict resolution, negotiating and influencing skills

  • Ability to adjust communication to reach all levels of an organization

  • Understands nuances of building a  project budget, tracking and classifying expenses against these efforts and organizing engagement with outside third parties

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or technology subject area preferred, MBA desirable

  • Project management certification and Lean Six Sigma desired

  • Preference will be given to candidates with business operations and/or consulting or advisory backgrounds whom have had exposure to multiple ways of designing a service delivery function from the ground u

The expected salary range for this role to be performed in Colorado is USD$217,000.00 - USD$304,000.00. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for participation in Twitter’s Performance Bonus Plan and Equity Incentive Plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
