Cricketer Virat Kohli has invested an undisclosed amount in Rage Coffee, the Delhi-based FMCG company that manufactures, markets and distributes packaged coffee products

As part of the deal, Kohli will also become the brand ambassador of the company.

This is not the first investment from the former captain of the men in blue, who, along with his wife Anushka Sharma, invested a small amount in Blue Tribe Food, a home-grown plant-meat brand, in February this year.

Earlier, the duo had invested Rs 2.2 crore in Canadian billionaire Prem Watsa-backed insurance startup Digit Insurance in February 2020, while he also owns a stake in wellness startup Hyperice.

Rage Coffee expects the association with the cricketer to boost the brand as a fan favourite in the market and create a pathway for customer acquisition.

Prior to this round, Rage Coffee had raised $5 million of growth capital as part of its Series A funding round that was led by Sixth Sense Ventures in August 2021.

Launched in 2018, Rage Coffee has scaled up to new territories and claims an offline network of 35 distributors, four CFAs, five super stockists, covering 2,500+ offline touchpoints across India.

"Virat Kohli has set some unrivalled records in the top echelon of world cricket and is rightly known as the best batsman in the world," said Bharat Sethi, founder and CEO, Rage Coffee.
