TikTok stars Charli and Dixie D'Amelio, along with some of their friends, angered fans after reportedly taking a vacation to the Bahamas during the holiday break.

The sisters and a handful of their fellow creators jetted off to the tropics during the COVID-19 pandemic, raising concerns that they were traveling from noted hotspot California and possibly not taking proper precautions, ET Canada reported.

TikTok influencer watchdog account the TikTok Room shared some pics and videos of the influencers involved, including Charli and Dixie, Madi Monroe, Noah Beck, Avani Gregg, and more. Among the images: a shot of Madi on a plane (straight from her own Instagram feed) sans the widely recommended face mask. The D'Amelio sisters haven't posted anything about the trip on their own social channels, but others in the group have shared Instagram Stories and videos.

Fans were not thrilled to see the group traveling — especially when, according to NBC News, hospital beds in their home base of Los Angeles are half-filled with COVID-19 patients. The city of Los Angeles is currently under a “Safer at Home” emergency order; and as of last week, intensive care unit (ICU) capacity in Southern California hospitals was at 0%, according to the Los Angeles Times. “This is so upsetting. Their job as 'influencers' literally allows them to STAY HOME and make an unfathomable amount of money,” one TikTok Room commenter wrote. “Where as [sic] many others are risking their lives everyday by working, and wish they could have the option to work from home, but that can’t happen because they have to pay the bills ... THIS is the exact reason the COVID spread will NEVER end. They are literally promoting traveling to all of their fans. I am embarrassed. They better not make the sorry excuse if [sic] saying they traveled for work because they know damn well they can work from home but are being selfish and traveling during a pandemic.”

Another person commented, “I haven't been able to see my friends in almost a year and ya'll traveling wtf.” Some fans even made TikTok videos of their own showcasing Charli's apparent hypocrisy regarding stay-at-home guidelines.

According to BuzzFeed News, the group was seemingly at the Atlantis resort in Nassau, where travelers aren't allowed entry without a negative COVID-19 test result. However, a negative test doesn't guarantee someone doesn't have the virus, and the group could be putting many others at risk.

This isn't Charli and Dixie's first controversy. The duo was recently criticized after a video of them being rude to their private chef went viral and led both influencers to lose followers at a rapid rate. The sisters eventually responded to the video, with Charli crying and Dixie stating that the entire video had been a setup for content.

As for the Bahamas trip, members of group in question have yet to publicly respond to the backlash. Teen Vogue will update this story as it develops.
