Who We Are

The teams in Twitter’s Counsel department are on the front lines of safety, speech, legal, and policy issues that affect the Internet. We work to ensure user trust, protect user rights, and mitigate legal risk through policy definition, Terms of Service enforcement, safety advocacy, and guiding the evolution of business systems to meet rapidly-changing needs of a global business. We innovate, experiment, and move at a fast pace to continue to improve how we serve our internal teams and Twitter’s end-users worldwide. We’re a learning organization with a growth mindset, and we’re always looking for ways to improve our policies and ourselves.

What You'll Do

As a Sr. Program Manager, you are responsible for running the programs of the Counsel Systems & Analytics (CSA) team, which focuses on making improvements to internal tooling and facilitating the launch of new policies and legal directives. You will maintain a complex portfolio of projects, provide regular communication to leadership, and drive prioritization and alignment across large cross functional teams. You will also help the CSA team improve their own internal processes, using varied methodologies, productivity tools, and your own experiences and best practices to increase our efficiency.

You will:

  • Collaborate with Legal and Trust & Safety policy teams to understand their processes and systems, and identify areas for improvement

  • Lead strategic alignment and prioritization of company-wide policy initiatives in support of Twitter’s Platform

  • Establish formalized processes for delivery of tooling-focused projects for the CSA team through documentation, training, and technical solutions

  • Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Policy Teams to ensure teams meet their schedule targets by implementing industry best practices in program and project management and roadmap delivery, crafting novel solutions where appropriate

  • Increase overall effectiveness of our organization by systematically identifying and solving root cause organizational and technological challenges discovered through the course of program delivery

  • Implement effective collaboration and communication strategies at all levels from individual project teams to cross-functional director-level forums

You will report to Counsel’s Manager of Product Operations. This is a full-time, remote position based in the United States with preference for Pacific Time working hours. You may have access to a local office if desired.

Who You Are

  • You are a strategic problem solver and valued collaborator; you can craft and execute on a vision while working cross-functionally.

  • You facilitate critical conversations with ease; you are comfortable working with and balancing the (at times) contending priorities of multiple teams operating in different countries.

  • You enjoy finding elegant solutions to tricky problems. You have a knack for handling multiple sophisticated tasks and projects efficiently.

  • You help your stakeholders and partners help themselves by reducing complexity and noise, in turn empowering them to focus on their unique value-add contributions.

  • You have an ambitious mentality, and are flexible, self-starting, self-motivated, and hard-working. You actively recognize needs, resolve problems, anticipate issues, and develop solutions.

  • You build and cultivate healthy relationships with partners and keep leadership informed and engaged. You customize your communication style based on your audience, and easily switch between verbal and written communication as needed.

  • Experience in similar roles in Technology or Internet companies preferred.

Qualifications

  • 3 -5+ years experience in program management, project management, business process analysis, operations management, or product management.

  • Strong familiarity with multiple project management methodologies and productivity tools.

  • Proven track record of identifying and resolving systemic issues in both software and people systems.

  • Program, Product, or SCRUM certification, a plus.

  • Familiarity with and respect for the norms of different cultures, a plus.

  • Experience supporting Legal, Counsel, or IT Operations organizations, a plus.
