If you were a fan of 2012’s Snow White and the Huntsman you were probably left wondering why one of its main stars, Kristen Stewart, wasn’t part of the film’s 2016 sequel, The Huntsman: Winter’s War, despite playing the Snow White herself — and well, Kristen has the answer.

As reported by The Independent, in a new interview with SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show, Kristen revealed she wasn’t cast in the not-so-popular sequel because she was involved in a high-profile scandal — apparently referring to her widely-publicized affair with the franchise’s director, Rupert Sanders.

“We lived in a different time then, you know what I mean? I feel like the slut-shaming that went down was so absurd,” the Charlie’s Angels actor admitted in the interview. "And they should’ve put me in that movie! It would’ve been better. Not to be a d*ck, but... they didn’t put me in that movie because I went through such a highly publicized scandal, and so they were like scared of touching that."

Kristen also opened up about how the scandal affected her personal life admitting, “That was a really hard period of my life, I was really young, I didn’t really know how to deal with that. I made some mistakes. And honestly, it’s no one’s business.”

“Basically, what I’m saying is, the work to me genuinely was ignored in a really sort of frivolous, silly, petty way,” she continued. “For a group of adult people who were supposed to be running studios and making films? Honestly, the film industry in Hollywood is so fear-based. I think they’re idiots, because if you take a little risk and make something good, people will watch it and like it and pay you.”

Kristen had already addressed not being cast in the film back in 2016 and she admitted that, ultimately, she was glad she had turned down a cameo role. Back then, she also denied the tabloid drama was the reason behind her absence in the first place, but now, she’s getting candid about it all.
