NC International Entrance Bursaries are available to applicants who currently hold a valid offer for a future intake.

NOTE: Award application deadlines and application instructions can vary depending on the award.
NOTE: In the interest of providing as many bursaries and awards to as many students as possible, a student may receive only one bursary or award per term.
Entrance Bursaries

These bursaries are for students who are applying for their first term at Niagara College.

Students may receive only one bursary per term.

Africa Continent Bursary

International student who is a resident of any nation in Africa Continent and has been admitted to a post-secondary program at Niagara College for the upcoming school year.
Caribbean Bursary
$2,000
International student who is a resident of a Caribbean country and has been admitted to a post-secondary program at Niagara College for the upcoming school year.
Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Bursary
$2,000
International student who is a resident of an approved CIS country (Albania, Azerbaijan, Belarus, the Czech Republic, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia) and has been admitted to a post-secondary program at Niagara College for the upcoming school year.
EAP to Postsecondary Scholarship
$2,500 – $5,000
Starting Fall 2023, all those who successfully complete level 5 of NC’s English for Academic Preparation (EAP) Program may be eligible for $2,500 CAD scholarship towards term 1 of an academic program at Niagara College. If an average of 80% is achieved in term 1 of their academic program, student may receive another $2,500 CAD scholarship. There is no form submission required to receive this scholarship and all actively enrolled students after Day 10 of term start will receive the scholarship onto their student account.
English for Academic Preparation Bursary
$750 – $1,500
Our English for Academic Preparation Bursary (EAP) is provided to an international student who is enrolled as a full-time student in the four-month offering ($1,500), or the two-month offering ($750). There is no form submission required to receive this bursary and all actively enrolled students after Day 10 of term start will receive the bursary onto their student account.
Graduate Certificate Bursary
$2,000
An international student that has completed or is currently registered in their final year of a post-secondary program at Niagara College and is entering a Graduate (Post-Graduate) program in the same or next academic year.
Hong Kong Bursary
$2,000
International student who is a resident of Hong Kong and has been admitted to a post-secondary program at Niagara College for the upcoming school year.
International in Canada Bursary
$2,000
Current Niagara College alumni applying to their second post-secondary program of study at NC, or a student who has recently completed post-secondary studies in Canada at another educational institution and is transferring to Niagara College.
In Canada Transfer Scholarship
$2,000
International student applying for a Spring 2024 or Fall 2024 term start from within Canada that holds a valid study permit. All eligible applicants will automatically receive this scholarship and will be applied in the first term of study after Day 10 has passed.
Japan Bursary
$2,000
International student who is a resident of Japan and has been admitted to a post-secondary program at Niagara College for the upcoming school year.
Korea Bursary
$2,000
International student who is a resident of Korea and has been admitted to a post-secondary program at Niagara College for the upcoming school year.
Latin America & Brazil Bursary
$2,000
International student who is a resident of Latin America and has been admitted to a post-secondary program at Niagara College for the upcoming school year.
Malaysia Bursary

International student who is a resident of Malaysia and has been admitted to a post-secondary program at Niagara College for the upcoming school year.
Middle East Bursary
$2,000
International student who is a resident of the Jordan, Iran, Syria, Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan, Qatar, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Kuwait, Bahrain or Israel and has been admitted to a post-secondary program at Niagara College for the upcoming school year.
Mongolia Bursary

International student who is a resident of Mongolia and has been admitted to a post-secondary program at Niagara College for the upcoming school year.
South East Asia Bursary

International student who is a resident of the South East Asia region and has been admitted to a post-secondary program at Niagara College for the upcoming school year.
Taiwan Bursary

International student who is a resident of Taiwan and has been admitted to a post-secondary program at Niagara College for the upcoming school year.
Turkey Bursary

International student who is a resident of Turkey and has been admitted to a post-secondary program at Niagara College for the upcoming school year.
Ukraine Bursary

International student who is a resident of Ukraine and has been admitted to a post-secondary program at Niagara College for the upcoming school year.
United States of America Bursary

International student who is a resident of the USA, and has been admitted to a post-secondary program at Niagara College for the upcoming school year.
Returning Student Scholarships

These scholarships are for enrolled students of Niagara College who are not in their first term of study.*

Members of our community have recognized the unique challenges that International students experience, and have generously donated scholarships to assist and celebrate student achievement. The scholarships available through these donations are based on academic performance, financial need, and volunteerism.

* EAP students are not eligible for the Returning Student Scholarships.

Dr. Mary Kilmer Tchalekian Scholarship
$1,000
International student from a Latin American country in a post-secondary program (level 2 and up);
Requirements: Maximum one page statement describing your academic and career goals and how this award will assist you in making a difference upon returning to your country.
“Dr. Mary Kilmer-Tchalekian had the privilege of collaborating on international development projects while she worked in the International Education Division of Niagara College. A former Fulbright scholar, she values the broadened horizons and life-changing experiences that international study embraces.”
Niagara College Student Administrative Council (SAC) International Award
$2,000
Full-time international students studying any NC Post-Secondary Program (Year 2 or higher).
Requirements: International Student. Academic Excellence – minimum 80% GPA; maximum one page statement “How have you taken advantage of the many extra-curricular and volunteer opportunities SAC offers to enrich your life as a student and fulfill your dreams?”.
Current NCSAC Board of Directors members are not eligible to apply.
Community Spirit Award in Memory of Isabel Hernandez Maltos
$500
Awarded to an International Student in any NC ESL or post-secondary program who exemplifies leadership and volunteering qualities at Niagara College or in the community.
Requirements: Write a letter outlining leadership and volunteer opportunities.

International Student Awards

Niagara College awards students who are the top academic and engaged students in their school. There is no application required and the award will be offered in both the fall and winter semesters. It is determined based on academic performance and an active co-curricular record.

One recipient from each academic school will be chosen and notified.
