A bit about the role:

Immutable is searching for a Head of Ethereum Research to ensure we remain at the forefront of the NFT ecosystem. You will report directly to the CTO, and be responsible for helping to shape the future of NFT protocols on L2 Ethereum. You will have substantial research freedom to find improvements to all aspects of our product, and the resources to build out a team to accomplish this goal under your leadership.
 
You will have the opportunity to work directly on some of the most important and exciting technology in the ecosystem, including creating both L1 and L2 on-chain trading protocols. We want to find someone who doesn’t just want to build NFT projects, but someone who wants to make the entire NFT ecosystem richer and more rewarding. Ultimately, we’re not trying to build a slightly better product - we’re trying to build a better future for digital asset ownership, and we’re looking for someone who can make a difference to that mission.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Take responsibility for designing solutions that will become industry standards 
  • Partner with the top scaling companies in the Ethereum ecosystem
  • Drive blockchain product decisions and map a long term strategy for Immutable in the ecosystem
  • Be an advocate for decentralization and user custody internally
  • Create tools to help yourself and others build better blockchain products
  • Validate blockchain-related technical decisionsConduct internal training and education on blockchain practices and processes
  • Ensure Immutable remains at the cutting edge of blockchain & NFT technology

We would love you to have:

  • Prior experience in a professional capacity in Ethereum and the Blockchain Ecosystem
  • A Product background and ability to effectively prioritise features and offerings
  • A deep understanding of the crypto ecosystem and Twittersphere 
  • Exceptional blockchain-literacy

A bit about us: 
 
Unique blockchain assets ("NFTs") have grown in popularity rapidly over the past few months. These unique assets allow people to own anything from in-game items to digital art to music and financial instruments. 
 
However, they are highly illiquid: transactions take minutes or hours to confirm, and Ethereum can process fewer than 5 NFTs per second for the whole world combined. To solve this problem for ourselves and for others, we have built Immutable X, a next-generation protocol for trading blockchain assets with instant trade confirmation, massive scalability, and no gas fees without compromising user custody. The goal of Immutable X is to help businesses scale their creation and trading of these unique assets (“NFTs”). 
 
NB: We can support 100% remote work if preferred.
