About the job

At Nova Credit, we’re on a mission to make financial access easier, no matter where you’re from or where you go. We’ve built a platform that enables lenders to access a single, predictive cross-border credit database to help underwrite immigrants and other global citizens. In effect, we are the first global infrastructure for financial identity to seamlessly move around the world. We’re passionate about financial inclusion, and committed to building a diverse and fulfilling work culture.

Our International function is responsible for Nova Credit’s success outside the United States. We’re growing revenue, multiplying our impact to more global citizens, and fulfilling our mission “to power a fair and inclusive financial system for the world.”

Within the International function, our Strategy & Operations team is scaling Nova Credit from our US roots into a global company. You will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and prioritizing new expansion countries, crafting new country entry strategies, and bringing those strategies to life by collaborating with internal and external partners to build scalable businesses in countries around the world.

WITHIN THE FIRST MONTH, YOU'LL

  • Understand Nova Credit’s product, business model, and international expansion plans
  • Perform market-sizing analyses and qualitative market research to support assessment and prioritization of new expansion countries
  • Develop and refine key Strategy & Operations team documentation (e.g., target operating model)

WITHIN THE FIRST QUARTER, YOU'LL

  • Take ownership of select work-streams for establishing our APAC operations
  • Complete business cases for priority expansion countries (including revenue projections and costing analyses)
  • Support development of target operating models for these countries
  • Support entity formation and regulatory licensing processes for new countries
  • Create presentations and trackers to support communication of International function strategy, investments required in new countries, and progress towards launch
  • Begin proactively identifying new countries not yet considered for assessment

WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR, YOU'LL

  • Complete business cases, country entry strategies, and target operating models for all currently-identified Nova Credit expansion countries
  • Support Nova Credit’s expansion to 4 new countries in 2022, including by assisting with go-to-market efforts, operational set up, and ongoing business operations of Nova Credit entities in new countries
  • Create and regularly update and present templatzed documentation on our International strategy and investments required in new countries
  • Develop a robust, prioritized country entry pipeline

Your Skillset

  • You have 2+ years of experience in a fast-paced environment (e.g., tech startup, consulting, investment banking, venture capital)
  • You learn quickly and can synthesize information into structured analyses and presentations
  • You have a high tolerance for complexity and ambiguity
  • You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build credibility, trust, and consensus with internal and external partners
  • You have a low ego and a desire to roll up your sleeves and do whatever it takes to make our global expansion a success
  • You are excited about traveling internationally (health & safety permitting) to support our international expansion
  • Multilingual capabilities, including Chinese language proficiency, preferred

Everyone is welcome at Nova Credit. We are an equal opportunity employer where our diversity and inclusion are central pillars to our company strategy. We look for applicants who understand, embrace and thrive in a multicultural and increasingly globalized world. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
