Music is very much at the heart of the story for Life is Strange: True Colors. The game follows the story of Alex who, after her brother dies in a suspicious accident, must embrace her volatile psychic power of empathy to uncover the truth. Alex’s emotional journey is accompanied by a premium roster of both licensed music and original tracks from Angus & Julia Stone, Mxmtoon, and Novo Amor.

In creating the game, the folks at Deck Nine Games knew that music would play a large part. Jon Zimmerman, the Narrative Director for the studio commented on this saying, “Music has always been a core part of Life is Strange. The emotions and feelings that music can elicit are such an incredible tool in a game that is all about exploring empathy.”

"For Life is Strange: True Colors, we wanted players to experience the peaks and valleys of Alex’s journey visually, emotionally, and auditorily. We are delighted to be able to feature such a diverse roster of truly inspiring musical talent.”

To make sure the music for the game achieved what it needed, music supervisor Ben Sumner put a lot of passion into crafting the game’s audio: “With music being so important to Life is Strange, as music supervisors for the franchise we’ve continually tried to raise the bar. Life is Strange: True Colors is the most ambitious project to date with more licensed tracks than ever and exclusive new music from 3 major artists. A lot of passion has gone into making it all happen over the last few years, so it’s great to finally be able to share it with everyone.”

You can explore the audio journey that awaits Alex Chen now on Spotify and get ready for the game’s release on September 10.
