Music is very much at the heart of the story for Life is Strange: True Colors. The game follows the story of Alex who, after her brother dies in a suspicious accident, must embrace her volatile psychic power of empathy to uncover the truth. Alex’s emotional journey is accompanied by a premium roster of both licensed music and original tracks from Angus & Julia Stone, Mxmtoon, and Novo Amor.
In creating the game, the folks at Deck Nine Games knew that music would play a large part. Jon Zimmerman, the Narrative Director for the studio commented on this saying, “Music has always been a core part of Life is Strange. The emotions and feelings that music can elicit are such an incredible tool in a game that is all about exploring empathy.”

To make sure the music for the game achieved what it needed, music supervisor Ben Sumner put a lot of passion into crafting the game’s audio: “With music being so important to Life is Strange, as music supervisors for the franchise we’ve continually tried to raise the bar. Life is Strange: True Colors is the most ambitious project to date with more licensed tracks than ever and exclusive new music from 3 major artists. A lot of passion has gone into making it all happen over the last few years, so it’s great to finally be able to share it with everyone.”
