Job Summary:

As an SEO Outreach Specialist, you will prospect, qualify, and engage with relevant sites and future partners to promote our blog and other landing pages and increase our authority online. You will own the process from beginning to end and beyond.

This is a remote position. We do not offer visa sponsorship or assistance. Resumes and communication must be submitted in English.

Responsibilities:

The following information is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or required skills.

You will be responsible for world-class keyword research and prospecting sites based on relevancy, qualifying sites, and gathering correct contact information. You will be responsible for reaching out and trying to establish a connection. You will also be responsible for monitoring inbound communications, building relationships and partnerships, and following up effectively.

Most importantly you will be responsible for building up our backlink profile with healthy links from authoritative and trustworthy sources (note: Toptal does not pay prospects or agree to link reciprocity).

In the first week, expect to:

  • Onboard and integrate into Toptal. Meet with the teams and people you will work with long-term.
  • Familiarize yourself with the structure and operations of the Outreach team.
  • Work closely with the Outreach Managers to get a fundamental understanding of the teams, products, and business operations.
  • Work closely with the team to dive deep into our history, assets, roadmap, and unexplored opportunities that you will be able to lead.

In the first month, expect to:

  • Take ownership of strategic projects at their initial stages or join relevant existing initiatives.
  • Dive into how we do SEO research to understand our process completely and craft new methods to share with the team. We only hire hands-on people who take initiative.
  • Understand the ins and outs of your role completely.

In the first three months, expect to:

  • Exercising discretion and independent judgment, take full ownership of outreach campaigns including keywords research, prospecting, communication with potential clients, reporting, and delivery of high-quality links.
  • Take full ownership of other SEO outreach strategic projects.

In the first six months, expect to:

  • Launch dozens of outreach campaigns.
  • Build up relationships with website publishers and online influencers.
  • Propose unique outreach project ideas.
  • Become a go-to person for keyword research and excel at prospecting.

In the first year, expect to:

  • Become an outreach expert, capable of tackling any outreach project like a pro.
  • Be a success story in the Growth team. You will be able to show concrete, bottom-line impact thanks to your projects, and you will be imagining the next batch of even more ambitious projects to drive growth for Toptal.

Qualifications and Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • 2+ years of recent experience on outbound or outreach campaigns.
  • Intermediate knowledge of SEO concepts is preferred.
  • Excellent keyword research skills and an excellent command of the English language.
  • Experience with tools like BuzzStream, GetProspect, or Hunter.io is preferred.
  • Experience keeping track of metrics and being able to report them when needed.
  • You must be able to thrive with deadlines and competitive goals.
  • You must be comfortable with using Google Suite apps such as Sheets and Docs.
  • Proficiency in using GPT and other AI bots as well as proficiency with data analysis and fluency with Excel or Google Sheets is preferred.
  • You must be comfortable collaborating with a team to get tasks completed as well as working independently.
  • Genuine enthusiasm and a can-do attitude.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly growing company and handle a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a diverse array of contacts.

Luiz has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BSc in Computer Science from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.

Todd's other executive experience includes CMO at Series D MedTech startup Medable, as well as launching & scaling Edelman’s Performance Marketing offering to $200M/yr in media managed. Todd has a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Goizueta School of Business at Emory University.
