Unshackled Ventures Overview

We lead investments and provide the 'friends and family' capital many immigrant teams don't have access to. We sponsor visas, provide full immigration support, and a community of resources. We remove obstacles and help immigrant entrepreneurs succeed faster.

The Role

We are looking for students (undergraduates and graduates) who are hungry to learn more about what it means to be an investor and operator at a company's earliest stage. This is a unique opportunity to connect directly with a fund and see what early stage investors really do on a day to day basis.

Learning opportunities include:

🔎 researching industries and space

📚 learning about diligence reports

🚀 researching growth opportunities for current portfolio companies

The goal of the fellowship is for students to gain an understanding of how we as a fund fit into the early stage VC ecosystem and how we work with our teams post term sheet. We are excited to welcome our fellows into our investment meetings, working sessions, and mind space as we grow our portfolio and help our current companies thrive.

Requirements

• Be a student enrolled in University and willing to join scheduled calls between 9AM - 5PM PST and commit to 2-4 hours per week
• Have an establish community on campus
• Passion for early stage company building
• Understand the fundamentals of business, community, and marketing

Nice to haves:

• Be an Immigrant (1st or 2nd gen) or have a passion for this community
• deep industry knowledge
