Who we are:

Online user research has transformed in recent years, but the tools and processes available to physical product developers remain largely the same as they were in 1980 – think mall intercepts and sterile focus groups. These methods are expensive, hard to coordinate, and not all that reflective of how people use products in real life. As a result, products get rushed out the door with inadequate research and 90% of the 30,000 new products launched every year fail.

Highlight exists to help products exceed the rising bar we have for them with an in-home product testing platform that lets you do good research fast. We streamline everything from recruit to data set, including all the logistics of getting your product to your target customers. Whether you’re targeting kitten-owning millennials or retinol-using women over 50 in California, with Highlight you can get projects moving with just a few clicks and receive insights in days and weeks, not months.

The role + team:

The Highlight marketing team (a small but mighty part of our bigger 30+ person team) is looking for a Summer Intern to help expand our B2C marketing and social media functions! Highlight is a mostly remote culture (spread throughout the US!) and has a small team, based conveniently in the NYC area.

Role responsibilities:
-Manage the company’s social media accounts (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook) and post content.
-Help coordinate campaign calendar and brainstorm campaign ideas.
-Work with the team to analyze analytics to gauge the success of social campaigns.
-Understand the overall concept of the company, including the brand, customer, product goals, and all other aspects of service.
-Engage with the Highlighter community through social media
-Work with the marketing team to stand up new B2C media functions such as community newsletter, fun community campaigns, ambassador programs, etc.
-Provide suggestions to management for improving social platforms and internal social media processes.

The right candidate will…
-Have experience with social media marketing or are looking to grow their skills.
-Be proficient in online engagement and content management
-Have good verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and a creative mindset
-Have Experience with content creation, even if not professionally
-Be in their 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of college or graduate program
-Prior experience is preferred

Nice to haves:
-Experience with Canva content creation and/or Adobe Illustrator
-Interest in various forms of multimedia content (video, photo, graphic design)
-Basic knowledge of social media analytics software including Facebook Insights, Google Analytics to track audience engagement and campaign performance
