Job Description

We are searching for a motivated and experienced Compliance Director to ensure that our business processes and transactions follow all relevant legal, regulatory, and internal guidelines.  This role will provide 1st line of defense compliance activities over the Visa Advanced Identity Solutions (VAIS) digital identity platforms as well as the ARS Consumer Office (ARS).

The VAIS products predict the likelihood of fraud during the credit application process. ARS is a consumer reporting agency in place to manage consumer request and disputes. 

Responsibilities

  • Review Consumer Office work and monitor adherence to program procedures

  • Assess program operations to determine compliance risk

  • Evaluate the efficiency of controls and continuously improve them

  • Advise management on compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies through detailed reports

  • Create and manage effective plans in response to audit discoveries and compliance violations

  • Regularly review program procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risks

  • Ensure all staff are educated on the latest regulations and processes

  • Assess future enhancements and initiatives to identify possible compliance risks

  • Consult with corporate attorneys as necessary to address difficult legal compliance issues

  • Keep informed regarding industry changes, trends and best practices and assess potential impact of these changes on program processes

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD

• Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, business management or related field
• 3 – 5 years proven experience in a compliance or risk role
• Good knowledge of legal/regulatory requirements and procedures including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)
• Brilliant oral and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping
• An analytical mind able to “see” the complexity of procedures and regulations
• Candidate will be required to successfully complete Consumer Data Industry Association (CDIA) certificate program for CRAs within first 90 days of employment

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
