We are seeking a passionate storyteller and self-starter who is interested in joining our growing Marketing and Communications team. As our Communications & Brand Coordinator (intern), you will work closely with the Communications team to drive high-impact Brand & Product communications strategies and launch innovative health companies into the market. Your goal is to support communications and brand work across the Redesign Health ecosystem, including new product launches, thought leadership, brand content and project management. You’ll have the opportunity to join a growing function within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

In this role, you will help the Communications team scale the communication function, implement new communication strategies and programming, position Redesign Health and its Operating Companies as leaders within healthcare innovation, and develop fresh and insightful content.

You will report to the Director of Product Communications and work closely with our Head of Communications and Director of Brand Communications. This role will be 100% remote, working out of California or New York.

What you'll do:

  • Corporate Communications

    • Collaborate with the team on new ideas and tools to help enhance communication and go-to-market strategies
    • Proofread and develop press materials, including press releases, FAQs, factsheets, bios, and social media copy, maintaining the highest level of quality.
    • Analyze reporter coverage and social media presence of RH and its Operating companies; provide research to teams as needed.
    • Identify new reporter targets based on relevant coverage and industry trends; prepare and update media lists.
    • Compile retrospective analyses and presentations based on OpCo launches, competitor and trending news.
  • Thought Leadership Content & Events

    • Identify current or emerging trends, themes, and best practices in internal and external communications.
    • Identify speaking and awards opportunities; assist in drafting submissions; manage calendar of events and external editorial calendar; provide research to teams as needed.
    • Provide a fresh perspective on social media, offering recommendations, ideas and content that audiences will find engaging, human-centric, and representative of the RH and OpCo brands.
    • Support the development of materials and thought leadership content for Redesign Health and OpCo internal and external channels.
    • Coordinate content programming within the broader Marketing & Communications team.
  • Program Management & Capacity Building

    • Assist with executing RH and OpCo strategies, launch campaigns and events.
    • Develop internal presentation materials and templates for RH and its Operating Companies.
    • Conduct research to identify new comms partners and vendors; make phone calls and email as needed to collect information on vendors; obtain quotes, and provide options and recommendations in a memo format; and maintain communication with vendors as needed.

What you'll need:

  • Background

    • Final year undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Comms, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Business, or a related field.
    • Prior experience interning in marketing, communications, or a startup.
    • Demonstrated interest in healthcare and venture capital.
  • Skills

    • Self-starter who is organized, has a strong attention to detail, and is resourceful.
    • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable working independently and in team environments.
    • Understands internal and external stakeholder requirements, expectations, and needs.
    • Strong interpersonal skills; relating comfortably with people across levels, functions, culture, and geography. Acts with diplomacy and tact.
    • Introduces new ways of looking at problems by coming up with useful ideas that are new, better, or unique
    • Learns quickly when facing new situations, showing a personal commitment and to continuously improve.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strict and continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials.
    • Strong understanding and experience of using a broad range of social media platforms.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office software and Google G Suite.
    • Ability to master the online software used for managing email lists and sending newsletters (examples: MailChimp, HubSpot and Salesforce).tforms (i.e., Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, Clubhouse)
