The example given of an abuse requires that one inverts plain logic and says that the absence of abuse = permission to freely launder money or purchase illegal goods or ask for ransom without any consequences.

The issue is not anything to do with a banking system. Banking systems are part of the political configuration of a country. If that country is like most in the liberal-democratic world, its banking and financial systems reflect those values: you are not allowed to launder money or resources or any ill-gotten gain. Nor are you allowed to contribute to corrupt activities or finance them in any way.

It's weird, but the listing of the legal actions against the financial institutions lays it out plainly: YOU CAN FREELY DO ALL THESE THINGS WITH NO CONSEQUENCES IF YOU USE CRYPTO.

In the crypto cult: up is down, left is right, wrong is right. And this article is a beautiful example.
