Poetry Genius. Every subject Rupi Kaur writes about hits an emotional string in my soul that I didn't know I had and she does it so bluntly and unapologetically. It's an awesome collection of poems that deserve to be read.

This is a remnant from my interest in Instagram poetry. A fleeting "what are the kids into?" moment in my reading life.
This functions more as a series of affirmations and inspiritive blurbs than a collection of poetry. It has it's merits but certainly isn't for me. I know that post-ashbery there is certainly a multitude of ways in which poetry can be defined, but this ain't it, chief.

Es mi primer acercamiento con Rupi Kaur y no estuvo mal. Me gustó mucho el último capítulo donde habla de la sororidad entre mujeres y el amor que debemos tenernos hacia nuestro cuerpo y no dejar que hombres nos digan qué debemos hacernos física y emocionalmente.
Las ilustraciones dieron un toque muy bello y emotivo a la poesía que en algún momento me pareció muy cursi. Los primeros poemas estuvieron consisos y muy duros porque habla sobre la violacion de una niña de parte del padre ebrio. Fue terrible leerlo pero es necesario leer esto para que se reflexione el tema del abuso hacia nosotras. Sobre todo de familiares.
Creo que es un libro que apuesta a algo bueno pero el estilo no me convenció del todo. Sentía que sus versos eran frases de motivación personal.
Elvira Sastre tradujo el libro no sé si tenga algo que ver con eso (siento que a veces su poesía es como una frase emotiva, perdón si alguien piensa lo contrario).
Es un libro interesante para acercarnos a la poesía. Lo recomiendo para quienes empiezan a sentir interés por este género. 😊

“lo bueno de vivir en los extremos es que cuando amo doy alas pero quizá eso no sea algo tan bueno porque siempre tienden a irse y deberías verme cuando se me rompe el corazón no me duele, me hago añicos”
No se porque me han empezado a gustar los poemarios pero creo que empezar a leerlos fue una buena decisión, no sabía que tan solo con una frase podia llegar a identificarme tanto y llorar por ello, no se como tan pocas líneas o párrafos pueden llegar a sentirse tanto como para que puedas recordar a la mañana siguiente lo mucho que te dolió o que te hizo sonreír una sola de ellas, es increíble si me lo preguntan.
Y este poemario en particular me gustó mucho, en la parte de la ruptura fue lo que me dolió más y la autora me encantó la forma en que lo describió tanto y tan bien y los tema que toca son sin duda pocos de los que se habla pero lo hace de una forma tan bonita que me encanto y me hace querer seguir leyendo poemarios de ella, que lo más seguro voy a hacer.

tiesa tokia, kad poeziją skaityti kita kalba yra sunku. na bent jau man buvo tikrai sunkiau. gal ir skamba gražiai mintyse, bet per daug laiko buvo leidžiama tiesiog sėdint ir vietinių prašant pagalbos. nes NU kaip čia reikia teisingai suprasti. aišku buvo ir tokių tekstų, kuriuos mokėjau mintinai. buvo smagu palyginti jų skambesį. O BET TAČIAU. Rupi Kaur kūryba nėra labai šilta ir jauki. ji kupina įvairių slegiančių jausmų, nes autorės vaikystė tikrai nebuvo rožinė kaip pasakose. skaitant tam tikrus tekstus užplūsta tokios emocijos, nes tu jauti tą žodžių svarumą. ne tik jauti jį, bet ir supranti kas už to slepiasi.

Califico esta colección con 2 estrellas porque no es muy mala. Pero es malo. Algunos otros poetas cuyos libros he leído recientemente son mucho mejores. Y no son productos. Ellos son Ray Boydstun, Barbara Carle, H.D. y Mary TallMountain.

The books depicts the struggles of being both a woman and a woman of colour. Throught both books there are series of struggles mentioned such as abuse and self hate , Rupi Kaur constructed the poems as a self help guide for those going through a hard tiem, the way the book is composed allows the reader to feel like everything is going to be ok by having.

algumas poesias me deixaram extremamente impactada, especialmente as primeiras, que falavam de abusos, e aquelas que falavam sobre a dor do amor também abusivo. mas eu confesso que li esperando um pouco mais. não sei se me decepcionei pela minha própria expectativa, ou se porque algumas das poesias são realmente meio clichês. ainda assim espero ler mais coisas da autora.

Exquisito. Un libro emotivo de palabras suaves con sentimientos muy profundos. Es capaz de trascender y avivar recuerdos del pasado. Perfecto para alguien que ama la poesía y ha tenido desaciertos en el amor.

Para poder seguir éste libro se requiere estar en un momento susceptible, conocí a Rupi por casualidad en un momento así.
Me gustó, aunque después de repasarlo varias veces considero que va siendo más ligero cada vez.

despite mixed thoughts on Rupi's writing, i do adore her style of poetry. the simplicity and the art within these books are easy to relate to and fall in love with. these books are amazing if you want something you could easily read within a day but still feel fulfilled by the books purpose.

Muy femenino pero no en un sentido negativo o despectivo, todo lo contrario, se siente el alma de una mujer que quiere expresarse por todas e incluso sin saberlo por la humanidad, si se le quitan los pronombres cualquiera puede sentir la mayoría de poemas dedicados para sí.

ññ un poquito decepcionada:c me encantatattaat rupi kaur y sus poemarios pero este no se sintió tan autentico como los otros, siento que le faltó más conexión entre los propios poemas y más armonía. tampoco me gusto que haya comenzado con poemas tan fuertes y explícitos
