    Covid News: Delhi on Sunday reported 1,083 fresh COVID-19 infections with a positivity rate of 4.48 per cent and one death due to the disease, according to the health department. On Saturday, the national capital had reported 1,094 COVID-19 cases, its highest daily spike since February 10, with a positivity rate of 4.82 percent and two fatalities.

    Senior Congress leader and former Governor of various states K Sankaranarayanan passed away at his residence here on Sunday, family sources said. He was 89. Sankaranarayanan was the Governor of Maharashtra, Nagaland and Jharkhand. He had also held additional charges of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Goa as Governor.     One hurt in mysterious explosion in J&K's Rajouri

    One person was injured in a mysterious explosion in Jammu and Kashmir's border district of Rajouri on Sunday, officials said. The explosion took place at Budhal-Shahpur in Kotranka area outside the house of Preetam Singh around 8 pm, a few hours after the conclusion of a marriage function there, they said. A police party has rushed to the spot and the cause of the explosion is being probed, the officials said, adding the injured was shifted to hospital and his condition was stated to be stable.

According to the ministry, this year's turnout as of 15.00 GMT was lower than in the last two presidential elections at the same time.

    Taliban in fresh decree bans co-education in varsities

    After imposing stringent rules upon the Afghan civilians, the Taliban have now segregated weekdays of male and female university students, at two institutes to put an end to co-education. In a bid to end co-education, the Taliban Ministry of Higher Education has announced the allocation of specific days in a week for male and female students to attend universities separately. This diktat, for now, will be followed at Kabul University and Kabul Polytechnic University, reported Khama press. According to the new timetable, three days will be assigned for the female students of the universities where no males will be allowed. Similarly, the other three days will be appointed solely to the male students where no presence of a girl is permitted.
