It’s the most wonderful time of the year to freshen up your playlists. And who better to help with that than Spotify, which has just added one dozen new tracks to its Spotify Singles: Holiday Collection.
The 12 freshly-recorded versions of beloved cold weather classics come courtesy of Camilo, Julien Baker, Jazmine Sullivan, Black Pumas, Sasha Sloan, Ruston Kelly, Verite, Dashboard Confessional, Ryan Hurd, Patrick Droney, Betty Who, and Vistas.
A standout is Camilo’s take on “5 Pa Las 12,” which was originally recorded by Venezuelan artist Néstor Zavarce in 1963. “This was a very important song when I was a child. It was an anthem we all sang and danced to together at midnight,” Camilo said in a press release. “Recording my interpretation of the song was like bringing alive all of those moments that were important for me as a child.”
