Hyderabad: Awfis, a coworking space provider, as part of its strategic association with real estate company Prestige Group, has set up a coworking centre at Begumpet in Hyderabad, further strengthening the coworking space ecosystem in the city.
The partners further plan to launch 12 new state-of-the art centres in southern and western India, in a phase-wise manner in the coming months. Awfis’ combined portfolio with Prestige spreads across Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Pune and stands at half a million (five lakh) sq ft across 12 properties in four cities that were signed over the last two quarters.
Amit Ramani, founder & CEO, Awfis, told Telangana Today, “Hyderabad centre has been set up at Prestige Phoenix, Begumpet. It has a built-up space of 30,000 sq ft with a 400-seat capacity. The centre will cater to small and medium enterprises (SMEs), startups as well as corporates. This Awfis Gold centre has premium amenities in line with all the Gold centres being created by us.”
“The centre provides plush private workspaces as well as collaborative work environment, a cafeteria with live counters, meeting rooms and lounges for the evolving needs of the professionals of today. Through this Gold centre, Awfis aims to serve the Prestige campus occupants through infrastructure paired with modern amenities and design,” he added.
Leveraging synergies
Awfis has 95 centres and 55,000 seats across 12 cities and is close to reaching the 100-centre milestone. Prestige Group has completed 112 commercial projects spread across 36 million sq ft with 24 upcoming commercial projects spread across 42 million sq ft area in major cities of India.
Prestige has established its presence in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Mysore, Mangalore, Goa, Ahmedabad and has now forayed into Mumbai, NCR, and Pune.
With Prestige’s pan-India presence, the combined portfolio of Awfis in the country could go up to one million sq ft and may see 3X growth in Hyderabad. Both companies aim to cater to the growing demand amongst enterprise clients and large corporations while continuing to cater to startups and SMEs who were the early adopters of coworking, Ramani noted.
“We believe in building relationships that are a win-win for all stakeholders in a shared and collaborative future,” said Irfan Razack, CMD, Prestige Group.
Tapping demand
This partnership is aimed at accelerating further growth in the rapidly evolving flex workspace segment and leverages Prestige Group’s and Awfis’ strengths, expertise, and capabilities to jointly invest and create value for both companies, as well as their customers.
The collaboration aims to cater to the growing demand for coworking spaces for startups, SMEs, mid and large-sized corporates, which are looking to adopt hybrid/agile workplace models, amidst the new normal.
Juggy Marwaha, CEO, Prestige Office Ventures said, “Nearly 40 million sq ft of coworking space is now spread across the length and breadth of this country, and we definitely believe that the flex segment of the office landscape will continue to rapidly grow.”
