'Community Healthcare Boxes' by The People's Liberation Front
As risk of exposure to COVID-19 increases in the city of Houston and surrounding suburbs, people experiencing homelessness are a vulnerable population that need aid. We, The People's Liberation Front, hope to provide preventative, immunity building materials as well as basic necessities to those experiencing homeless during trying and uncertain times such as this. As temperatures average in the mid-90's and living without shelter becomes increasingly difficult, please consider making a donation to our cause. Your contributions will provide aid to keep Houston's unsheltered population safe.
Your contributions will allow us to make Community Healthcare Boxes that include items such as; socks, underwear, pads/tampons, condoms, reusable face masks, reusable water-bottles, hand sanitizer, Emergen-C, and cooling towels. This list of items has been vetted by established community leaders who have communicated with us the current needs of community members experiencing homelessness. For donation items we need: tents, umbrellas, first aid kits, backpacks, and anything else. To coordinate a donation drop off, please message @TPLFofficial on Instagram or [email redacted].
Each box will provide reusable items and will be dropped off contactless to various camps in the greater Downtown-Houston area. We are directing our aid to existing clusters of unsheltered people in order to minimize the possible spread of COVID-19.
It is important in our journey towards abolition that we prioritize re-building within our own communities and address the unmet needs of our unsheltered population.
