It Takes All of Us to Stop Line 3: Jewish Community Call

Indigenous people and allies are rising up to stop Line 3, a dirty tar sands pipeline currently being constructed and violating treaties through Anishinaabe land. As Jews, we are called to protect life and water and to be honorable guests on this land. There is no better way to prepare for the coming Jewish new year than to make teshuva (repair) for the cultural harm and  the destruction being perpetrated on this land. This Elul is our last chance to Stop Line 3.

Coming together on Monday, August 16, we will …

  • learn about treaty rights and get the latest updates on the movement to Stop Line 3;
  • practice individual and collective cheshbon hanefesh (accounting of our souls) in preparation for the Jewish new year and to deepen our work to Stop Line 3; and
  • act in solidarity with indigenous communities fighting for their land, water, and sacred sites—today and in the future.

Join us for this Jewish community call to prayer, movement, and action.

This event is part of a series of community calls hosted by MNIPL and GreenFaith with leaders from a variety of faith and spiritual backgrounds who are organizing their communities to take action on Line 3. People of all faiths and spiritual practices are welcome to attend, although this event on August 16 will specifically center members of the Jewish community. It takes all of us to stop Line 3 and build back a fossil free world! See all upcoming Line-3 related events below, including others in this series of community calls.
