Zelensky criticizes Turkey for preparing new tourist routes for Russians

Ukrinform
President Volodymyr Zelensky considers Turkey's preparation of new proposals for Russian tourism and simultaneous support for Ukraine to be double standards.

"I have to be frank with you. For example, we have the support of Turkey and Greece. But we have issues with both Turkey and Greece. This is life, and each state has its own interests... Russian tourism has brought a lot of money to Greece for many years. We believe that they [Russians] make money on blood and then take the money with them. The same situation is in Turkey, Turkey acts as a mediator and supports Ukraine with important steps. On the other hand, we see Turkey preparing several tourist routes specifically for Russians," Zelensky told Greek newspaper EPT News in an interview, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to him, these issues should be raised to have friendly relations. The President noted that such policy cannot be pursued because it implies double standards.

"This is not entirely fair, and that is why I draw Turkey's attention to such processes. There is a need to choose," Zelensky added.

As reported, Erdoğan-Putin phone conversation is scheduled for this week. They are expected to discuss the possible holding of a meeting at the level of Ukrainian and Russian presidents in Istanbul or Ankara.
