The strange thing is that he never listened to music when he wasn't painting. However he couldn't paint without music in the background. He knew music very well and claimed that it is the finest of all arts. He dreamed of composer career. In childhood his parents wanted him to learn the piano, which he did not like and was glad when he lost the ends of two fingers following manipulating with some 2ww explosives. It freed him from learning to play the piano. But he was somehow crossed with his music teacher who did not teach him how to compose. Because all his life he wanted to be a composer. He thought, however, without education there is nothing to start with. In his youth, still in Sanok, he had installed a number of recording decks, on which he composed various voices, which as he said, were not in the literal sense of the music. What these compositions consisted, there's no way to figure out, because when he was moving to Warsaw, he threw out the recording equipment and destroyed the tapes.
