We’ve been blown away by the interest in our Analyst role! Thank you to everyone who applied and shared the link. 🙏🏼 We’re thrilled to share that we had a 50/50 split of men and women apply and well and truly reached our minimum target for women (see snapshot from Applied below). We ended up receiving 3x the number of applications we were expecting, with well over a hundred people applying! A couple of key takeaways for those keen to attract more women to traditionally male dominated roles: 1) Be transparent about your process and exactly what you’re looking for, including what is not needed if it helps to clarify your requirements 2) Use platforms like WORK180 & Applied to show that you are genuinely committed to diversity and inclusion 3) Set a diversity target for your pipeline (e.g. we set a minimum of 20 applications from women before we reviewed - if we did not reach this target, we would’ve gone back out to market) 4) Be conscious of your language in the position description - both WORK180 and Applied help to identify masculine and feminine coded words. (Note: we could’ve done this better by changing the role title - thanks for flagging this Rebecca Eastwood and Sarah Moran) 5) Share the role with networks that include the types of candidates you are trying to reach, intentionally going beyond your usual circles We’re in the process of reviewing the applications we received and look forward to bringing onboard our new team member!
