New Unicode Characters for Heiltsuk
As part of an ongoing partnership between Haíɫzaqv (Heiltsuk) Nation and Typotheque, governed by a Memorandum of Understanding, we are proud to announce that two new capital letters and for Haíɫzaqvḷa (Heiltsuk language) have been formally published in version 16.0 of the Unicode Standard. To share this news, Heiltsuk Revitalization and Typotheque have created a video in order to present the story of how the publication of these characters was achieved and why it was necessary.
